@ryanlpetermanthick Beijingness accent
Logic and expression: 5/10, not so coherent would want to read original English version
Naturalness in tone: 4.5/10, saw some attempts on making it colloquial, but ChatGPT/Claude voice is already much better

Haha pardon my strict eval- just for fun!

@paigeinsf I appreciate the strict eval, it is helpful! I’ll play with different models to see if I can make it more natural

@ryanlpeterman Followed!

Idk, I don't feel like the dub is necessary? 🤔 Subtitles should be enough, and they feel more natural?

@LeeTzui I’ll keep experimenting but it seems like the dub performed much better (left one in pic) from my early testing

@ryanlpeterman Fluent in both English and Chinese. Feels weird to me because of the foreign accents added to it. Would feel more natural with original English sound track + Chinese subtitles

@stigopython That’s what I was thinking, I will keep testing though

I did do a side by side and so far the dub performed much better but still need to collect more data points

@ryanlpetermanforeigner who speaks good Chinese and has learned the Beijing accent. It is not natural and a bit hard to listen to.

dedao.cn has natural Chinese voices for reading books. Gaode (AMap) has Ling Zhilin's voice pack; that's the most enjoyable. I wish she could read books for me. She is a Taiwanese actress and model, known for her signature gentle, sweet, and comforting tone.

@ryanlpetermanoal is to promote in Chinese social media like rednote. I think a good Chinese subtitle is more than sufficient.
Start with that and see if Chinese voice has better.
The video you post has good accent and translation. But the tone is just so hilarious that I can't really focus on the content itself. (But that's might not be a bad thing for promoting the video!
