Is this a crazy github bug or just really bad UI?
While debugging why codex can no longer access my github repos, I checked these "Authorized GitHub Apps" pages and see that it says "[…] installed on 2 accounts you have access […] {name of other person's account}"

The other oth of people I know, so this might be some really strange situation of them adding me to one of their repos or something. Anyhow, v sus

Rust obviously works great with agents because they have intense pre and post training on it. I’ve heard token encoding even has dedicated tokens for some commonly-occurring syntax sequences.

Anyhow, compiling Rust is quite slow, especially if you use 3rd-party libraries. It’s sometimes worse than C++

If you use a lot of 3rd-party libraries and/or work with many worktrees, sccache can make a big difference (it has for me.)

Linking can still be brutally slow. Perhaps @rui314’s mold could help here

If you use macOS you’ll be paying for first launch of newly-built executables because “gatekeeper” will have to check with Apple’s servers before the OS can start your program. If have lots of tests, put them all into one executable.

With C, I can get edit-run cycle down to ~500ms with ThinLTO and 3rd party libs in a dylib (during dev; statically link for release.)

What other tricks are there for improving the edit-run iteration cycle?

Introducing tiny.london

A massive isometric pixel map of London, based on amazing NYC demo by @_coenen from 9 months ago

My agent created the dataset, finetuned qwen image LoRA adapter, did a multiday inference run and built an efficient tile viewer!
I wanted to share something I built over the last few weeks: isometric.nyc is a massive isometric pixel art map of NYC, built with nano banana and coding agents.

I didn't write a single line of code.

I bought a refurbished Mac mini M4 Pro off of eBay, stuck it in my basement and now our CI is faster _and_ we can do perf tracking (for which you need controlled hardware.) It all cost less than a month’s worth of GitHub CI $$$

Today, I’m releasing Nestag! It’s an app that lets you visualize Finder tags as containers in nested hierarchies (kinda like folders).

I actually created this app with AI back in February. It’s an app I have dreamt of having for nearly a decade.

What I don't understand is: Why would I cancel my Adobe products only to use some uninspiring copycat slop apps that look and work exactly the same?

This is a once in a life-time opportunity to completely re-think and personalize your unique workflow. A dream come true for anyone who has a unique view on their creative process.

I’ve been designing for more than twenty years, almost entirely with tools I had no say in. Someone else decided how they should work, and I adapted.

So as you can imagine I have endless ideas about how things could and should work. Not for everyone, but specifically for myself. I don't even have an interest in distributing my unique creative flow to anyone else, because after all its mine.

If I could design and build my own Photoshop/Illustrator/etc..., then I’d start from first principles and build it for an audience of one. I wouldn’t copy a tired, bloated or outdated workflow just because it’s what I’ve used since the late 90's. Because then I may as well just stick with what I had.

As designers, lets think a little bigger here. Build something tailored exactly for YOUR needs, with every decision shaped by how you work, think and create.

PS: And if an existing app/flow solves your problems already perfectly, then yes, use it. Just doing your own custom solutions for the sake of it (or for clout) is doing it for the wrong reasons.
