We don’t, we explicitly tell you to bring Patch 10 of Steam’s NBA 2K17. Although their anti-drm on older games sucks and users bypass it with ease.
Not only that, the game isn’t purchasable anywhere, it’s entirely delisted. Despite us telling everyone to get it legit, they’re going to get it by any means possible and since they refuse to buy an $80 2K17 G2A Key, they opted for piracy.

So hypocritical of 2K and it's so predatory. We've received DMCAs and in their words we're causing "irreparable damage to their IP" then they get clowned like this, in front of 700K+ views bringing attention to what should be illegal practices within the gaming community.
They're doing it in our face with 0 regards for their player base and the sad part is, there's barely anything the end user can do to fight against it.

Love that there's more awareness about the outdated tech 2K has been using. It should've been tossed out once PS4 hit the shelves in my honest opinion, that's how ancient this tech was built to run on. The world has advanced way passed it for the most part.
I do understand the implications that come with the simulation system they're using and that latency is a trillion dollar issue. But there's so much better alternatives now in 2026. It'd take them merely months to toss it out, that's nothing for game development and is probably preferred at this point than new features.

We’ve shipped out some too aggressive anticheat checks to prevent users from tampering.
We’ve had a massive influx of users after going free and to compensate for the volume of support we automated bunch of factors that involve taking action against cheaters.
Although the ban ISN’T false, it’s a bit too harsh so we’re correcting some offenses to correspond with how we approach exploiters & cheaters.

Relaxed "feels better and like mycourt" but then you get weird disconnects, inconsistent connections, and horrible overall stability for a large range of matches.
No idea what 'slums 19' is doing nor if the server location is just simply closer to you, but that's our response.

We haven't modified any of 2K17, we've improved some legacy issues with rendering causing screen tearing since the game FPS cap is 60 and most users are above that refresh rate surprisingly.
Experimenting with the current net-code is very hard with RE-driven development. It's gotta be optimal and we need to learn how the game itself allows for any modification and what changes we'd likely have to make IF we want to make any. We're doing this all for free, i'm not sure if we'll be making the effort to improve the engine ourselves unfortunately.
