Marking #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth, Qatar Fund for Development, in collaboration with Qatar Cancer Society, held an awareness session for its staff on the importance of early detection and prevention, promoting a culture of health and wellbeing.

إيماناً بالدور المحوري للاستثمار والتجارة في تعزيز التنمية المستدامة، نظّم صندوق قطر للتنمية والبعثة الدائمة لدولة قطر لدى الأمم المتحدة في جنيف، بالتعاون مع الإطار المتكامل المعزّز التابع لمنظمة التجارة العالمية ومكتب الممثل السامي للأمم المتحدة المعني بأقل البلدان نمواً ساحلية والدول الجزرية الصغيرة النامية، مائدة مستديرة رفيعة المستوى ضمن أعمال منتدى الاستثمار العالمي 2026، تحت عنوان: «الشراكات والاستثمار والتجارة: نحو تعزيز التنمية المستدامة والازدهار في أقل البلدان نمواً».

وجمعت المائدة المستديرة نخبة من كبار المسؤولين لمناقشة سبل حشد التمويل الإنمائي، وتعزيز الشراكات الاستثمارية، وتوظيف التجارة لدفع التحول الاقتصادي وتحقيق التنمية المستدامة في أقل البلدان نمواً. كما أكدت المناقشات أهمية تعزيز التعاون الدولي وترجمة الالتزامات إلى خطوات عملية تسهم في تسريع تنفيذ برنامج عمل الدوحة لصالح أقل البلدان نمواً، ودعم الاستعداد لاستعراض منتصف المدة المقرر عقده في الدوحة في مارس 2027.

Recognising the critical role of investment and trade in advancing sustainable development, QFFD and the Permanent Mission of the State of Qatar to the United Nations in Geneva, in collaboration with the WTO’s Enhanced Integrated Framework (EIF) and UN-OHRLLS, co-hosted a t the World Investment Forum 2026 entitled “Partnerships, Investment and Trade: Advancing Sustainable Development and Prosperity in LDCs.”

The roundtable convened high-level representatives to explore approaches to mobilising development finance, strengthening investment partnerships and leveraging trade to advance economic transformation and sustainable development in Least Developed Countries (LDCs). The discussions highlighted the importance of strengthening international cooperation and translating global commitments into concrete action to accelerate the implementation of the Doha Programme of Action and inform its Midterm Review, in Doha in March 2027.

The Embassy of the State of Qatar in London was delighted to host a breakfast reception welcoming the Qatari delegation participating in the UK-Qatar Humanitarian AI Fellowship, alongside representatives from the British Embassy in Doha. 🇶🇦🇬🇧

The Fellowship is a flagship -Qatar Development Partnership, aimed at strengthening the responsible, ethical, and impactful use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the humanitarian sector in Qatar. The programme is led by Qatar University in partnership with British Embassy in Doha. It brings together experts from academia, healthcare, humanitarian organisations, education, and government institutions to explore how AI can be harnessed to improve humanitarian outcomes while upholding principles of transparency, accountability, safety, and human-centred innovation.

the initiative reflects Qatar's commitment to building national capacity in artificial intelligence and advancing innovative solutions that serve humanitarian and development goals.The delegation includes representatives from the Technical Working Group Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) and Qatar Fund For Development (QFFD), Qatar University (QU), the Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities (RACA), Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS), Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), and Qatar Charity, Education Above All (EAA) and leading stakeholders from Qatar's healthcare, education, research, and humanitarian sectors. Together, they are working to strengthen cross-sector collaboration and develop practical approaches to the responsible application of AI in humanitarian action.

The breakfast reception offered an opportunity to exchange ideas, deepen bilateral cooperation, and reaffirm the shared commitment of Qatar and the United Kingdom to advancing innovation and humanitarian action through the responsible use of artificial intelligence.

تعد الزمالة مبادرة رائدة في إطار الشراكة الإنمائية بين المملكة المتحدة وقطر، وتهدف إلى تعزيز الاستخدام المسؤول والأخلاقي والمؤثر للذكاء الاصطناعي (AI) في القطاع الإنساني في قطر. وتقود جامعة قطر هذا البرنامج بالشراكة مع السفارة البريطانية في الدوحة. ويجمع المؤتمر خبراء من الأوساط الأكاديمية والرعاية الصحية والمنظمات الإنسانية والتعليم والمؤسسات الحكومية لاستكشاف كيفية تسخير الذكاء الاصطناعي لتحسين النتائج الإنسانية مع دعم مبادئ الشفافية والمساءلة والسلامة والابتكار الذي يركز على الإنسان.

شاركت السيدة روضة إبراهيم النعيمي، مديرة إدارة الاستثمار في صندوق قطر للتنمية، في جلسة «تقاسم المخاطر في عصر مضطرب: التعاون والابتكار»، ضمن أعمال منتدى الاستثمار العالمي 2026، التي ناقشت دور آليات تقاسم المخاطر والشراكات المبتكرة في تحفيز الاستثمارات لدعم التنمية المستدامة. همية تعزيز التعاون مع المؤسسات متعددة الأطراف والقطاع الخاص للحد من المخاطر الاستثمارية، وتوسيع نطاق الوصول إلى التمويل في الأسواق التي تواجه تحديات في جذب الاستثمارات.

Ms. Rwodah Ibrahim Al Naimi, Director of Investment at Qatar Fund for Development, participated in the session “Risk Sharing in a Turbulent Era: Collaboration and Innovation” during the World Investment Forum 2026, which explored how innovative risk-sharing mechanisms and investment for sustainable development.

During her intervention, she emphasised the importance of strengthening collaboration with multilateral institutions and the private sector to mitigate investment risks and expand access to finance in markets facing challenges in attracting investment.

On Friday, Expertise France and the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to formalize their strategic cooperation and establish Expertise France as a key partner for mobilizing technical expertise and implementing QFFD-funded projects.

ألقى سعادة السيد فهد بن حمد السليطي، المدير العام لصندوق قطر للتنمية، الكلمة الرئيسية في جلسة «الاستثمار في السلام: من أسس السياسات إلى أثر رأس المال»، التي نظّمتها الأمم المتحدة للتجارة والتنمية (الأونكتاد) ضمن أعمال منتدى الاستثمار العالمي 2026. وناقشت الجلسة سبل حشد متأثرة بالنزاعات، من خلال تهيئة البيئة الداعمة للاستثمار، وتوظيف الأدوات المالية المناسبة، وتعزيز الشراكات والتنسيق بين الجهات المعنية.

وأكد سعادته في كلمته أهمية الربط بين الاستجابة الإنسانية العاجلة والتعافي طويل الأمد، بما يدعم إعادة بناء المؤسسات، واستعادة سبل العيش والقدرات الإنتاجية، وتهيئة الظروف اللازمة لجذب الاستثمارات وتحقيق التنمية المستدامة.

Mr. Fahad Hamad Al-Sulaiti, Director General of QFFD, delivered the keynote address at the session “Investing in Peace: From Policy Foundations to Capital Impact”, organised by UNCTAD during the World Investment Forum 2026. The session explored how effective policy nstruments and coordinated partnerships can mobilise investment in conflict-affected countries.

In his address, H.E. emphasised the importance of aligning immediate humanitarian response with long-term recovery to rebuild institutions, restore livelihoods and productive capacity, and create the conditions necessary to attract investment and advance sustainable development.

Mr. Fahad Hamad Al-Sulaiti, Director General of QFFD, participated in the High-Level Dialogue “SIDS Priorities, Policy Frameworks and International Support” during the World Investment Forum 2026. The dialogue explored how investment, innovative financing and international then climate resilience, support adaptation and advance sustainable economic transformation in small island developing states.

During the discussion, H.E. highlighted the importance of mobilising development finance and strengthening partnerships to address financing gaps, unlock investment opportunities and translate national priorities into tangible development outcomes.
