The least developed countries #LDCs require long-term partnerships that allow them to strengthen their productive capacity and make use of trade and investment to create jobs and advance sustainable development pathways.
As I chaired a high-level roundtable at the World a, we discussed how to enhance cooperation among partners, the importance of aligning financing with national priorities and expanding access to technology and knowledge transfer.
Such efforts support the participation of women and youth and enable local companies to move up value chains.
We also addressed the importance of sustaining joint efforts ahead of the Midterm Review of the Doha Programme of Action in March of next year, and of building on existing initiatives to ensure tangible and sustainable outcomes in the least developed countries.

As I chaired a high-level roundtable at the World a, we discussed how to enhance cooperation among partners, the importance of aligning financing with national priorities and expanding access to technology and knowledge transfer.

Recognising the critical role of investment and trade in advancing sustainable development, QFFD and the Permanent Mission of the State of Qatar to the United Nations in Geneva, in collaboration with the WTO’s Enhanced Integrated Framework (EIF) and UN-OHRLLS, co-hosted a t the World Investment Forum 2026 entitled “Partnerships, Investment and Trade: Advancing Sustainable Development and Prosperity in LDCs.”
The roundtable convened high-level representatives to explore approaches to mobilising development finance, strengthening investment partnerships and leveraging trade to advance economic transformation and sustainable development in Least Developed Countries (LDCs). The discussions highlighted the importance of strengthening international cooperation and translating global commitments into concrete action to accelerate the implementation of the Doha Programme of Action and inform its Midterm Review, in Doha in March 2027.

خلال مشاركتي في منتدى الأمن العالمي 2026 بالدوحة @GSECForum، تحدثت عن التحديات التي تواجه المفاوضات الدولية، وأهمية التمييز بين التوافق الذي يعكس التزاماً حقيقياً والتوافق الذي يظل في حدود الإجراءات، مع مراعاة الخصوصيات الثقافية والقانونية دون المساس بالحقوق الأساسية.
كما استعرضت تجربة الوفد الدائم لدولة قطر لدى مكتب الأمم المتحدة بجنيف @QatarMission_Ge في بناء الحوار والتشاور القائمين على الثقة مع مختلف أصحاب المصلحة، والتي انعكست ايجابياً في تقديم ثلاثة قرارات إلى مجلس حقوق الإنسان اعتُمدت جميعها بتوافق الآراء.
وتطرقت إلى دور القيادات النسائية في إدارة الخلافات الدولية وبناء الثقة بين الشركاء.

Multilateral diplomacy requires building consensus among States while upholding fundamental human rights principles, ensuring accountability & safeguarding the credibility of international law.
During my participation in the 2026 @GSECForum, I addressed the challenges facing international negotiations and the importance of distinguishing between consensus that reflects genuine commitment & consensus that remains merely procedural, while taking cultural and legal particularities into account without compromising fundamental rights.
I also shared the experience of the Permanent Mission of the State of Qatar to the United Nations Office in Geneva @QatarMission_Ge in reaching a consensus on the three resolutions we had submitted to the @UN_HRC
I also addressed the role of women leaders in managing international disagreement and building trust among partners, highlighting the leadership style & experience of Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser @mozabintnasser in harnessing education, health and institutional engagement to strengthen international cooperation and forge partnerships across political divides.
I stressed the important role women leaders play in sustaining trust amid deep disagreement through respectful, trust-based engagement, inclusive communication and negotiation, institutional competence and principled consistency.
Special thanks to the team of @GSECForum for their remarkable efforts.

وقطر تحملت منذ اليوم الأول الكثير في إطار ختلفة. ولكن هذا لا يعني بأي حال من الأحوال أننا نقبل بمثل هذه الاعتداءات على بلادنا.
