At peak, Lovable creates 250 new repos per second on code.storage.

Simultaneously they improved fetch latency 230% from a more purely object storage solution.

If you’re a product builder and it’s scale and speed that you’re after, signups are now open.

@kevincodexi@martinwoodwardthe read performance degrades so much that you need several CPU cores just doing maintenance full time to keep up. I don't think it's a realistic target for a live repository, nobody is pushing that much code and nobody will for a long time! These are synth tests!

My advice would be focusing on reliability and repository health instead of a synthetic number of pushes you can ingest. The most important thing in a live repository is how well maintained the auxiliary data structures are (midxes, bitmaps, reverse indexes, etc). That is what dictates the performance of the rest of the operations in the system. GitHub does this very well! (we spent many years working on just that :))

@kevincodex commits per second is to a single repo, which is a very different metric fwiw

@joaoqalves We’re not a consumer github product, but we do make diffs and trees so products like codex desktop can add code-reviews in place.

@YossiEliaz can you say more about what you’re thinking? at the moment, we’re a code hosting platform but don’t offer compute products like ci/cd. but many companies use us as the origin in their ci/cd pipeline or in their sandboxes.

@pierrecomputer You're saying @Lovable creates 25 times more *new* repos a second than GitHub who is at 9.3/s?

That seems hard to believe.

@pierrecomputer I was a bit skeptical of Lovable at first since for anyone with a bit of experience coding, claude code or codex is better, but fuck me they are actually going crazy still.
