📦 nuqs@2.10.2 is out! 🚀

It fixes a bug of state flickering when a sync render interrupted a startTransition in React Router, and a bug in Next.js 16.4.0 with shallow updates interfering with each other.

I started my career in the pro audio industry before building on the web.

This new project with @orcdev brings both together: beautiful, accessible audio controls & meters as React components you own and customise.

Go build that audio app! 🎧
Introducing audiocn.

I teamed up with open source legend @fortysevenfx, to build components for everything audio in your app.

Fully open source, free, and part of the @shadcn ecosystem.

Check it out, and give us a star on GitHub! ⭐

Sury x @nuqs47ng = A match made in Heaven!

The schemas' composability, with a neat adapter architecture from nuqs. I don't know, man; this looks just beautiful to me.

▲ ~/𝚛𝚊𝚞𝚌𝚑𝚐/𝚘𝚜𝚜-𝚐𝚛𝚊𝚗𝚝𝚜/ 𝚕𝚜▐ (v2)

I'm announcing v2 of my open source grants of $1,000USD to 35 awesome contributors. The themes:

① Agent skills & tools
Skills are now a valuable form of software, like Emil's world-class design eng work. Projects like 𝚙𝚐𝚋𝚘reate amazing AI engineering loops.

② Local AI
Projects like 𝚜𝚕𝚘𝚝𝚜𝚝𝚛𝚎𝚊𝚖, 𝙻𝚘𝚌𝚊𝚕𝙰𝙸, and 𝚌𝚘𝚕𝚒𝚋𝚛𝚒 are making inference not just a demo but for many a real and growing utility. Exciting to watch local AI unfold.

③ Performance
There's no excuse for software to be slow anymore. Projects like 𝚏𝚏𝚏 and 𝚝𝚊𝚔𝚞𝚖𝚒 leading with speed, compilers like 𝙿𝚎𝚛𝚛𝚢𝚃𝚂 and 𝚙𝚘𝚛𝚏𝚏𝚘𝚛 that can help us upgrade entire ecosystems to native, and 𝚐𝚙𝚞𝚒𝚡 pushing the GPU rendering speed frontier.

④ High quality foundations
AI is still at its best when it can reuse great components than regenerating every time from first principles. Lots of love to folks working on @shadcn, Svelte(kit), Nuxt, Node.js and security foundations.

⑤ Cool experiments
I couldn't resist donating to gloom.sh, a 'Finance terminal in the terminal', or beautiful funky things like 𝚍𝚒𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛-𝚔𝚒𝚝.

If you're looking for an amazing medior-level engineer skilled in both open-source and closed-source work @AlminaBrulic is looking for a job.

I mentored and personally trained her for over two years and she worked for me on various projects, both open-source and not.

If your company is looking for an engineer or know someone DM her, or me!

📦 nuqs@2.10.1 is out! 🚀

It fixes some issues with the testing adapter, improves render performance on page load and some fixes for concurrent React (discarding renders).

Next few beta releases will be mostly about @ReactRouter fixes.

📦 nuqs@2.10.0 is out! 🚀

The React SPA adapter is now SSR-compatible for @astrodotbuild, @inertiajs, @fastifyjs etc. Feed it the `serverSearch` prop to avoid a flash of defaults on island hydration.

@nuqs47ng @nextjs If your app is all set on app router or pages router, you should set your imports to:

- `from "nuqs/adapters/next/app"`
- `from "nuqs/adapters/next/pages"`

Saves you the bundle size + runtime cost of having both in the "nuqs/adapters/next" one.

Are you using the @nextjs universal nuqs adapter?

`import { NuqsAdapter } from 'nuqs/adapters/next'`

(note: not nuqs/adapters/next/app nor nuqs/adapters/next/pages)

Considering dropping it in the next major.

@nextjs It allows sharing components between app router & pages router, by auto-selecting the right adapter for the router where that component is mounted in.

But it's becoming a pain to maintain, and my hunch is that folks are on either pages or app, but don't have hybrid setups.

My current favourite AI-automated tedious task: bundle size reduction.

To keep @nuqs47ng at a low bundle size (<6kB), for each big change I ask 5 subagents to do a rewrite of the changes that:
- play well with gzip/brotli compression
- stay under the limit
- still pass the tests
- maintain legibility

This only works if you have tools to measure progress: size-limit by @sitnikcode, knip for dead code, or asking your agent to build custom tools on Vite to inspect your bundle size.

Sol gave it a nickname: bundle size bake-off 🧁

📦 nuqs@2.9.6 is out! 🚀

It fixes an issue with pending URL updates not resetting on Back navigation in Next.js pages router & TanStack Router, when no useQueryState(s) hooks were mounted.

Also minor correctness fixes for parsers.
