Great to host @gdb at @Uber HQ this week. We’ve worked closely with @gdb and the @OpenAI team for several years, and it’s remarkable how much has changed.

The first piece of work we did with ChatGPT years ago was with our support team, tinkering with a 4K context window :-). now.

Now we’re using the latest frontier models to automate engineering workflows at global scale, moving into the era of agentic engineering.

Today we’re expanding agentic capabilities across the whole company. Following a 1,000-person pilot, we’re rolling out ChatGPT Work from @OpenAI for Business to every Uber employee. We’ve seen the shift in engineering, moving from AI helping with individual tasks to completing whole workflows, and we want to bring that same shift to teams across the business.

I’ve spoken before about the ‘AI pods’ we launched earlier this year, pairing AI engineers with teams across Uber to improve how work gets done. One team reduced the time needed for an intense capital allocation process covering 150 cities from 15 hours to 30 minutes. That’s what I love about applied AI: combining the latest technology with the expertise of people on the ground to completely rethink what’s possible. Now we want to do that at scale.

Uber has always been a company of builders, and every day millions of people around the world rely on what we create. I can’t wait to see what the team builds.

Big upgrade to the Chrome extension today!

You can now control Chrome from inside ChatGPT.com by just installing the Chrome extension!

You no longer have to install the Desktop app to get computer use, and the product is a lot more reliable without the dependency.

Free ChatGPT users can now also bring the context of your Chrome tabs into Chat without consuming any Codex limits.

The side chat now also mirrors ChatGPT.com's full UI, which means you can freely toggle between Chat/Work, and access all your chats, spaces, files wherever you browse.

Our goal is to bring computer use as a capability for everyone, and this is just the first step! Let us know what you think.
A few big upgrades for Chrome users today! We’re bringing the power of computer use to anyone who uses Chrome.

First up: ChatGPT can now use your tabs in Chrome to make answers more useful and get things done for you.

If you’re in Chat, it can look across your open tabs and e in Work, ChatGPT can control your Chrome tabs to get things, like sending messages, filling out forms, or downloading files. It can even help you organize and group that pile of tabs you have open.

Over a year ago, a young engineer named Alex Nahas participated in a talk in Seattle called “The Death of the Browser.”

The talk anticipated that agents wouldn’t need the UI, and therefore the browser would become a relic of the past.

But where others saw just an interface, Alex saw something else in the browser: a computer. The perfect companion for every AI agent.

A computer with a networking and identity stack, a UI to support humans, and built-in security.

This led him to invent something completely new: WebMCP. An interface that allows agents to interact with websites through the browser.

Where others saw something dying, Alex saw something completely new being born.

Today we’re hosting Alex’s thoughts on the future of the web and WebMCP, in the WebMCP Directory blog:

A great example of how OpenAIs new dots can help you with everyday stuff!
I got to try ChatGPT’s new dots personal assistant ahead of time as part of their Dev Early Access Community testing. TL;DR: It saved my day today.

Longer version: I had an early train to London today. I woke up to find it had been cancelled (yay, UK trains!), and I had to get a later train – I would end up being late for my event, and the later train would likely be swamped with people. There was an earlier train available, but it was in 20 minutes; there was no way I could get there in time.

It turns out that my dot had spotted the problem, read the cancellation email to see my ticket was valid on earlier trains, then looked up the live tracking for the earlier train and found that it was running late – it hadn’t even left its starting station yet. It did this with zero input from me; not even an initial request, just fully autonomously.

So, I was able to leave more or less as normal, head to the train station, and catch the earlier train just fine.

Train: Caught. Day: Saved. Me: Impressed.

We are so excited to launch dots today, an always on assistant that can do everything.

Each dot has its own computer in the cloud so it’s able to take on anything you throw at it!

We gave it:
- a password manager that syncs your credentials across ChatGPT
- browser use and ive Linux app
- local computer use to seamlessly handoff cloud tasks <-> local, so you can work anywhere and it works everywhere

Combined with the ecosystem of plugins, and the cloud coding environment, it’s truly remarkable how much it can do.

I have used it from simple personal errands like keeping my badminton coach updated with my availability to complex work tasks like monitoring & actioning on product feedback from early testers that involve data analysis, testing website, slack coordination and committing code.

The embodiment of the intelligence, the proactive messages, and the full power of a computer make it feel like a true personal assistant that frees you up and multiplies your ability to do ambitious work.

The team worked really hard on this one, and we think you’ll really feel the magic when you use it!

Super excited to see @stripe support WebMCP - this is going to be a game changer!
We just rolled out support for WebMCP across @stripe Checkout UIs.

In our benchmarking we saw 42% fewer tokens consumed and 38% fewer tools invoked when an agent had access to WebMCP when completing a payment.

Very excited to be part of this team that brought this together - go use your favorite Chrome extensions in ChatGPT Desktop today!
Today, we’re launching support for Chrome extensions in the ChatGPT desktop app!

Bring the extensions you use every day to the in-app browser. You can now install, pin, and use your favorites, like 1Password, while getting things done with ChatGPT.

Enterprise admins can now nage extensions across their workforce so the IAB meets security requirements.

Try it out and let us know what you think!

Another great @OpenAI WebMCP entry! Bring "mixture of experts" to life in your simulated boardroom, ask them the burning questions and get a great considered response back!
how do you get doug leone, tobi lütke, scott wu, & rick rubin all in the same room?

...you probably can’t 😅 but you CAN now hire all them onto your personal “board of directors”

bring your toughest life & business decisions to the world's top experts:
- should we pivot our startup?person to lead design?
- should I change jobs? or move to a different city?

boardroom distills the worldview, expertise, and taste of anyone who’s ever tweeted, written a blog, or gone on podcasts.

use WebMCP (@OpenAIDevs) to bring your own agent for just-in-time context & read/write to tools you already use

recruit your own board members today: boardmeet.ing

so, who's on your board?

This is huge!
We’re sharing a solution to the Navier-Stokes Millennium Prize Problem, one of the deepest problems at the frontier of mathematics.

The proof was produced by a group of agents, using an OpenAI next-generation model significantly more capable than GPT-6 Astra.

The problem scription of smooth three-dimensional fluid motion modeled by the Navier-Stokes equations can break down. It has remained unresolved for roughly 90 years.

ChatGPT Sites is my favorite plugin (after Browser of course 😂)

Have an idea? Ask Chat to build it and host it with Sites. You can have your own database backed website within minutes. It’s incredible!
You can now share your ChatGPT Site without sharing it with the world.

Invite specific people to view your site while keeping it private from everyone else. Business and Enterprise teams can also invite guests from outside their workspace, making it easy to share dashboards, ing else they build with clients and partners.

Available on Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise.

I remember watching BBC’s Tomorrow’s World in the ’80s and ’90s, catching glimpses of the future of computing; seeing the futurist demos from Xerox PARC and Apple; hearing the Mac say “hello”; experiencing the arrival of Siri – a personal assistant you could actually talk to.

Those moments made the future feel full of possibility. With GPT-6 Astra, we’re turning so many of those glimpses into reality.

It’s an incredible honor to work at @OpenAI. GPT-6 Astra is a phenomenal model, and the ChatGPT apps really bring it to life. Getting to help build the future I grew up imagining means a lot.

This submission to the OpenAI WebMCP Hackathon is wild - a website that is actually an OS, with full WebMCP support. This allows the agent to drive the OS, perform actions, build as if it's a local machine, and much much more.

One more day to go - get your submissions in!
We just submitted our project to the @OpenAIDevs WebMCP hackathon: The WebMCP Computer.

WebMCP Computer is an operating system that lives inside the browser, with WebMCP as its native control layer.

It is a computer that treats agents as first-class citizens, where files, , windows, and the terminal are exposed directly through WebMCP.

You can send anyone one URL that becomes a disposable computer for any agent task.

We created a computer instance in ChatGPT Sites, open it with Codex’s in-app browser and try it here: computer.webmcp.com

Some examples of what you can do with WebMCP Computer:

1/ Give a coding agent a fresh computer to clone a repository, edit code, run tests, and preview the result.

2/ Let an agent inspect logs, manage processes, change configurations, and repair a broken system.

3/ Give a research agent its own workspace to browse, download files, analyze data, and create a report.

4/ Create reproducible environments for evaluating and comparing different agents.

5/ Let humans and agents work together in the same environment, with the agent using WebMCP and the human using the GUI.

The list of applications is endless, with more examples in our GitHub. The project is fully open source under the MIT license.

I couldn't agree more. OpenAI feels more nimble than any other startup I've worked in. With the strength of 7000+ elite researchers, engineers, designers, product mangers and marketers behind every major decision we also ship at a relentless pace.

If this sounds like your kind of company, come join us, we're hiring!
I think the best way to describe OpenAI's culture is as a mega startup. It's hard to believe unless you see it from the inside. Extreme ownership, care and pace.
