When asked whether taxpayers should be paying for administration ads featuring him, President Trump defended the spots, telling @nancycordes they are intended to be an “ad for the spirit of our country.”

“I’m not promoting a candidate. I’m not promoting myself because I’m not promoting the country,” Trump said.

Trump told @nancycordes he spoke with Netanyahu "at length" about the FlyDubai possible attempted hijacking, saying "it seems as though the co-pilot was perhaps a terrorist or perhaps a whackjob." He described how the "Israeli plumber" who had never flown a plane landed it.

Asked whether he urged tech leaders Tuesday to be more careful about building data centers near residential areas, President Trump told @nancycordes he wants them built “in the right location within the community.”

“The people in those areas, and we discussed this at length greatly benefit financially,” Trump said after meeting with top tech executives at the White House, suggesting teachers could receive bonuses and residents could “get paid a dividend.”

Person in the room for Trump’s mtg with tech execs tells me there was a lot of discussion around establishing the kinds of industry standards/audits that exist for other emerging technologies. Prevailing view was that new regs would slow innovation and quickly become outdated

Trump raised his “superintelligence” branding with the execs and there was little pushback.

As Trump mentioned to reporters, he urged the execs to do more for local communities (electricity, $$ for teachers, etc) to build goodwill around data centers. Execs were supportive.

Network TV poolers are lined up with the rest of today’s WH pool awaiting President Xi’s arrival. President Trump should be coming out to greet him shortly.

NEWS via @CBSNews: One cabinet secretary was on the secret plane with Trump -- Pete Hegseth -- when he employed a ruse to evade an Iran threat after the NATO summit. 
Two cabinet secretary were on the decoy (the plane publicly identified as AF1): Marco Rubio and Scott Bessent, sources told me. The secretaries, who separated from the president and maintained the line of succession, were aware Trump was on another, secret plane. 
Several White House aides were also on the aircraft without the president, including Stephen Miller, Will Scharf, Steven Cheung, Mike Needham, Ross Worthington and Monica Crowley.
Staff on the undisclosed plane with Trump after he relocated with the help of a catering truck included Natalie Harp, Dan Scavino and Walt Nauta.

Asked if he was worried about a missile when he secretly slipped away from AF1 after NATO summit and was whisked to another plane with the help of an airport catering truck, Trump didn't answer directly. TRUMP: "It'll all be dependent on a committee. A committee is being set up of very talented people, very highly respected people. I think it's a committee of five. And again, I didn't do this deal. It was told to me yesterday. They said they're doing something. I do believe there has to be compensation for people that were destroyed. You have families absolutely destroyed. And it's all going to be determined by a committee of four or five people that are respected and are very brilliant at what they do."
