two YC companies i'm working with are attacking the same health gap from different angles.

one helps you track what you eat.

the other helps you track how you feel.

importantly: both are super effortless to use.

in the past, wearables made quantified self work by making data passive.

heart rate, sleep, steps.

but food and emotional state (two of the most important health inputs) still require self-reporting.

that's why almost nobody tracks them consistently.

there are huge companies to be built by making annoying-but-critical data collection completely passive.

The most powerful way of altering how we feel is the people around us.

Went to a dinner last weekend where I knew no one but the host. Almost didn't go. Ended up vibing with someone new, talking about how we'd both produced music growing up in London, DJing in the same clubs. Felt like we'd known each other for years.

Left feeling so energised.

All it took was one conversation.

Wellness has become another productivity stack.

The industry built an obsession around tracking the body and completely ignored what to do with that information.

Your Oura ring tells you you're stressed. Great.
Now what?

Data without an explanation or action is not insight, it is anxiety with a better dashboard.

Polsia just raised $30M at a $250M valuation.

Approaching $10M annual run rate.

One Founder + AI. Zero employees.

Polsia runs companies autonomously.

It also ran its own fundraising.

I just showed up for signatures.

"What's being sold here is a solution to a problem technology helped create."

27 people agreed. Honestly, so do I, partially.

Technology changed the way we experience ourselves. Infinite scrolling numbed our attention. Notifications fragmented our focus. Algorithms optimized for engagement.

We became more connected than ever while feeling increasingly disconnected.

But the answer isn't to reject technology. It's to build it differently.

Anoria reads your emotions and shows you what’s shaping them in real time. The conversations, the people, the habits.

We’re not here to tell you how to feel. We’re here to give you the insights and tools to turn self-awareness into action. To be more creative, more in tune with others, or just more present for the moments that matter.

Over the coming months we'll share more of the science behind it. Step by step, as the product comes to market.

Technology pulled us away from ourselves and each other.

Anoria is the way back.

5.6M of you saw the launch film.
It was shot on 16mm film. Not AI generated.

We fundamentally disagree with the direction technology is pushing creativity towards.

We're building a company about human emotion, presence, and connection. We spent days in the desert with actual humans creating something together.

That moment when a group of people all lock in behind a shared vision is one of the most fulfilling human experiences.

The essence of happiness is creating together.

AI is incredible. We use it internally all the time. But there's a difference between using AI as a tool and using it to replace human craftsmanship.

Right now, a lot of creative work is starting to feel optimized and generic. Perfectly generated. Perfectly forgettable.

We wanted to make something that felt alive and nostalgic.

Technology should not remove humans from the equation. Instead it should make us feel more human.

That belief is at the center of Anoria. Not just in our product, but in how we build, design, communicate, and create together.

building a company is largely the act of managing your own emotional state so the field around you remains coherent enough for other ppl to do their best work inside it.

basically founders set the emotional physics of the org. panic compounds. but clarity compounds too.

the right version of ai is human extension, not human replacement
While everyone is racing to build AI to replace human experience, this YC company is building tech to deepen it.

Last week I got to attend the launch party where @michaelblhssn announced his AI wearable that goes on your wrist. Very fashionable.

It has several advantages over pendants.

1. People don't notice you are wearing it.
2. You don't have to take it off, which I did with my promptly left it behind, losing it. Expensive mistake (had to take it off to put on microphones on stage).
3. It studies your emotions and takes note.

Here's the video of Anoria's launch.
.@michaelblhssn spent 5 years at Apple designing iPhones, recently the iPhone 17 Pro enclosure.

He spent a decade asking: can human emotion be scientifically understood?

Today he's launching @anoria_inc, the first wearable that reads your emotions to enhance your EQ.

you’re asking the right question.

measurement without a closed loop is just another dashboard. that’s where every quantified-self device dies.

Anoria acts like a sixth sense. it surfaces shifts in your state before you can pick them up yourself, through subtle haptics and light. tells you why, and what you can do about it. less a tracker, more self-awareness you can wear.

the science is built on predictive processing. you’re not optimizing a number, you’re learning to regulate. behavior change comes from the right signal at the right moment, not a weekly summary.

more to come on how.
@Scobleizer @michaelblhssn The wrist form factor is smart for adoption but the real test is whether reading emotions translates to changing behavior. Most quantified-self devices nail the measurement and fail at the feedback loop. Curious if Anoria has cracked that.
