Most AI still automates tasks. The next shift is AI that can run business operations.
The progression looks a lot like autonomous driving.
Just as cars moved from driver assistance to partial, conditional, and higher autonomy, business operations will move through the same ations → people observe, decide and act.
1. Assisted operations → AI detects events. People act. (This is where Vision Agents sit today.)
2. Partial automation → AI executes tasks. People supervise.
3. Conditional autonomy → AI runs workflows. People handle exceptions.
4. High autonomy → AI runs a defined operation, including its exceptions.
5. Autonomous operations — AI coordinates and improves end-to-end operations.
The long-term direction is clear: increasing operational autonomy.
People set the goals, the policies and the accountability. AI runs more of the operations.
Humans govern.
At Manako Labs, we’re building World Models for Business so this progression can actually happen in the physical world, starting with the cameras companies already have.
Vision Agents are the entry point.
Levels 2–5 are the ambition.

We partnered with @Founders_Forum for today’s event, usually hosted in Berlin, but this time bringing its community to Paris.
Paris is increasingly becoming a place where ambitious founders, investors and AI leaders are coming together to build what’s next.
Shoutout to Manako, es building vision AI for the physical world. Their expert models are reportedly 400x more efficient than generalist ones for narrow tasks like vehicle detection, already deployed across hundreds of thousands of retail and commercial sites in the US. A reminder that the next frontier of AI will be the one’s closest to the real world.

Yesterday we pitched Manako on the Rising Stars stage at @Founders_Forum, with @joinstationf in Paris. Thank you to both for the room.
AI changed work inside computers. It is moving into physical operations, and it can start with infrastructure that is already installed. factories, stores, fuel stations and warehouses.
Almost none of that becomes an action, because operations still depend on someone noticing, understanding and reporting what happened.
Manako builds World Models for Business: AI that turns physical events into better business.
Today we deploy Vision Agents. They use existing cameras to identify physical events and start the business action that follows. A spill on a forecourt becomes a cleaning job for the on-call contractor, with the clip attached, before a customer has to report it. Live now, including at Avia Thévenin & Ducrot’s unmanned fuel stations in France. Setting up a new site takes under five minutes.
The ambition is the self-improving business.
The physical record of every site, available to the systems that run it, so operations keep improving.
People set the goals, the rules and the limits. What happens at your sites should not wait for someone to notice.

It may look like a small step, but it’s a giant leap for Manako.
this short clip is a big moment for us.
we generated it with our world-model baseline, marking a first tangible step in our journey from computer vision toward spatial intelligence.
recognizing an aisle is familiar territory. generating what that place could look like as a opens a different set of possibilities.
we supplied one AI-generated store image and a camera path and our baseline, produced 49 frames at 512×512, alongside an estimate of the visible 3D surfaces.
artifacts are obvious. unseen views are predictions, and reliable physical simulation remains ahead of us.
but seeing this first walkthrough emerge from our own pipeline feels amazing.
it’s a glimpse of what we’re building toward: worlds we can explore, layouts we can test, and environments where cameras and robots can learn before deployment.
imagine where miners will take this.

124 unmanned forecourts. 5 minutes to deploy each.
Manako Labs is rolling out across @Avia_France Thevenin & Ducrot unmanned stations in France.
“It’s about turning what we see into meaningful action,” says Guillaume Boussaroque of Avia Thevenin & Ducrot.

.@manakoai Rig builds custom harnesses and vision agents from natural language for our clients.
to do this, it leverages SOTA open-source models from @webuildscore.
the next step is for the miners to get annotated data from pseudo-real and real-world scenes and reconstruct them wn world model.
the goal?
understanding and predicting actions and their consequences in the real world, so we can operate real-world businesses autonomously.
can't stop, won't stop.

wednesday night in london, @FelixCapital event.
fireside chat with alex holt, field cto at @ElevenLabs.
one alpha stuck with me.
for early stage AI companies: hitting production is super hard.
the most valuable thing you can find is not a client. it is a design partner.
a ccess to valuable data, so you can push your tech and crack hard problems.
this is exactly what FDEs are great at: building that connection, understanding how the product best fits, so you can then crack those problems at scale for a whole industry.
after the talk I walked alex through @manakoai.
that is exactly our story with avia, our first fuel client and a great design partner.
a few months in, we are deploying our own hardware across their stations.
he was surprised, as deploying hardware at large companies is no easy feat.
super proud of the team. we are on a very promising track.

Manako Labs is heading to #NACSShow2026 in #LasVegas, and we’d love to meet the people running the forecourts and stores that keep the world moving.
If you’re a fuel retailer, c-store operator or forecourt network with cameras on every site that record everything and act on o new cameras. We turn the ones you already have into Vision Agents that see what’s happening on site and act on it in real time: queue and pump alerts, safety and loss events, people counting and dwell, plus business intelligence dashboards for everyone from store manager to CEO.
Runs at the edge, affordable and reliable at scale.
Already live with fuel retailers across Europe, now scaling in the US from our New York HQ.
Real World. Real Action.
Going to the show? Send us a message and let’s find time to meet ☕

next batch of stations to be deployed with @manakoai is going to allow us to leverage a lot more @webuildscore models.
- 4 motorway stations. beasts with 40+ cameras each.
- that’s 10x more cameras than on unmanned stations.
- massive fuel forecourts, EV charging bays, car rmarkets, coffee areas.
the second best news…
is it’s with a new signed client 👀

This weekend the team brought 15 stations online across Lyon, France.
Three days of work. Around five minutes end to end for each site.
Deploying computer vision to a physical location usually means weeks of integration. New cameras, a site visit, cabling, sign-off.
Every s went live on the cameras it already had. No new hardware, no rewiring, no site visits. We point Manako at the existing feed and it starts watching and alerting.
The reason we did 15 at once was to see how deployment holds up across different setups. No two stations are the same, camera angles, how the feeds are wired, the lighting, the layout.
Doing a batch like this confirms the system handles real-world variance, rather than just guessing from one clean pilot. We have our baseline, and we can now take this speed and scale the rollout to any site.

And this, ladies and gentlemen, is our Head of Forward Deployed Engineering
just got back home after deploying @manakoai on 15 stations alongside @MaxSebti these last 3 days.
I’m now convinced of three things:
1. our team is outstanding. elite people in all departments, constantly delivering, week in, week out.
2. our founders, the three of them, are rd core operators.
some of the toughest mfers, and, at the same time, most beautiful human beings you’ll meet.
3. our window of opportunity is exceptional. we have a shot at bringing to market a technology capable of changing entire industries.
who dares wins.

Tomorrow I'll be at the 15th France Invest Conference, presenting @manakoai
i'll be talking briefly about how vision ai can help on ESG, and where it actually makes a difference on the ground rather than in a report
thank you to France Invest and PwC France for the invitation, to Emilie Bobin, Partner @PwC_France
