When you look at a plastic container, you may notice it bears the familiar “chasing arrows” recycling symbol — but that doesn’t mean it can be recycled. 🧵grist.org/accountability…

People pointing out that Adidas had historic connections to Nazi Germany might be surprised by other German brands.
It also doesn’t mean that they are *still* run by fascists.
Which is also ironic given what’s actually happening in the US right now.

If we weren’t proactively destroying the planet (and each other) then I’d be more inclined to believe in humans becoming a “multiplanetary” species.
Our destruction of Earth will outpace our ability to leave the planet and support life on a completely foreign world.

It’s lazy because if you need to follow up on things, you can’t.
It’s unprofessional because you’re bothering people with your data collection when they need to get work done.

This is such a tiny fraction of what kinds of things are used in Asian kitchens… but to be more comprehensive would take a lot more time.
So proud to put out this package on AAPI food and ingredients today, all by AAPI writers/photographers/artists! sfchronicle.com/projects/2022/…
