Thoughts about the future of UI that excite me:

1. Complex web interfaces are dead in the long term. They are solving human perception limitations that will no longer be relevant. No one will want to learn how to use complex UIs in the future. If this is your app's differentiator, move fast.

2. Personal agents will win over dedicated app agents. People are getting used to agentic experiences, so building a dedicated agent for your app may *seem* like a good idea, but this is just a "faster horses" solution. No one will browse to 4 different websites to use 4 different agents. They'll use their own single agent and won't care how your websites even look.

3. The new frontend will be UI snippets that will be returned from MCP servers to be rendered in your personal agent. The agent will control the experience, and will display only the specific visualization or interactivity piece that you need from every app. There are fascinating questions there around how the apps will keep their brand in this new world, but without clashing with the agent's own experience. I'm most excited to work on that part.

4. If you're reading this and thinking "there is no way I'm giving up on dashboards" - you're still thinking like a project manager and not like the US president. The president doesn't look at dashboards, he has helpers who look at them and extract only what he needs to know. All visualization is a way of answering questions and make sure you're not missing anything. Eventually it's either "this is going well" or "this requires attention". Once we'll establish trust with the agents capabilities, we'll rely on them like on personal assitants, they'll extract this data, act on it and will defer to us *only* when a human decision or attention is specifically needed.

This will happen faster than we think. Try to use Jira's Claude integration for few days, and its "regular" web UI will start to seem unnecessary bloated.
In few years the idea of navigating to dozens of websites to manually use dozens of different interfaces will seem very primitive.

Personally I'm very bullish on this direction, and have been for the past months. I come from a long career in web development, so naturally there are mixed emotions for me seeing a decade of web UI development concepts evolving into something new. But I'm very excited about it, and very lucky to be at the forefront of it.

Wrapping up a great AGNTCon! 🚀

An MCP maintainers meeting, giving two talks about the agentic web, a cool booth by @oradotai, and above all - meeting again everyone from this amazing agent community, practically solving the entire agentic web in random conversations and on the ob by @AgenticAIFdn ! Highest social and fun ROI ever. And what an awesome community we have ✨
Really enjoying this talk and panel from @domfarolino @liadyosef and @ochafik at AGNTCon!

They’re not just talking about WebMCP or MCP Apps, but also how they can interact together!

If you’re not familiar with MCP Apps, here’s some documentation

Introducing AgentReady.org, the first open standard for agent experience.

Agents are a new class of user, but there's still no shared definition of what it takes to be ready for them. So we partnered with the leading companies in the agentic web such as Vercel, Stripe, and Elementor.

Our research lab ran agents on real tasks more than 250,000 times to measure what actually decides whether an agent succeeds, and every requirement traces back to that data.

The result is a short set of essentials in the order agents meet a product: find, read, act.

We've been overwhelmed by requests to join. If you build or study the surfaces agents touch, come help shape it.

The spec: agentready.org
The story behind it: ora.ai/blog/agentread…

MCP Apps ❤️ WebMCP

Great job by @ndmccormack , @mxstbr and the ChatGPT team! This is the future of interfaces, the chat can now interact directly with MCP Apps, using WebMCP.

Making the agentic web seamless ✨
I'm excited to share that WebMCP is now enabled for MCP Apps in ChatGPT Desktop! 🚀

@OpenAI is also collaborating with modelcontextprotocol.io to make WebMCP the default way for agents to interact with MCP Apps.

Another big step toward a more seamless agentic web!

Had a great chat with @CompleteSkeptic backstage at Ship! We might have figured out the future of generative UI and software :)

It's clear that fast intelligence will be a real unlock for all layers of the agentic web (the agentic jev™)

Shopify just released a way for personal assistants to shop *all of its products*, without requiring the human to visit the store's site.

Amazon just closed itself to all personal assistants, forcing humans to visit its site to shop.

Guess which one will win agentic commerce.

There's a lot of new standards and confusion around how agents find, use, and pay on the agentic web.

I mapped all twelve standards in one place: what each does, who's behind it, and what's actually live.

Technical moats are mostly over at this point. If you’re building something that is meant to be durable, the only moats now are:

• Proprietary data
• Network effects
• A physical component

An interesting large-scale research by Ora and @nebiusai.

We checked if agents still rely on training data for their recommendations.

They don't anymore.
They now rely *mostly on the agent experience they get*.

AX is not just the new UX, it's now eating AEO.

Check it out:
We ran 38,000 journeys with Tavily on 1,056 real business sites, across top agents like Claude Code, OpenClaw and ChatGPT.

The biggest finding: agents barely use their training knowledge anymore when they recommend services. 93% of the claims in their answers are grounded in on your site and through web search.

The research also found:
• Businesses agents can read get recommended 2.6x more often
• When a site blocks agents, they don't give up. They answer from other sources, and web search's share of the answer doubles, from 12% to 25%
• Those answers are 3.7x more likely to miss every fact the buyer asked for

This changes where marketing and product teams should focus. What moves the outcome now is showing up in the web search agents use, and making your own site readable for agents.

To see how you can improve your rank in agents search, Tavily built the Agent Visibility Report: avr.tavily.com

we removed a toggle from chatgpt!

no, not that one.

but, you no longer need to toggle developer mode to connect custom MCP servers!

all users can now just go to plugins → add → create custom MCP server to connect MCP servers.

WebMCP and MCP Apps are two ends of the Agentic Web.... What happens when you combine them? 🤯

I partnered with @kaskulikowski from @Google's WebMCP team to explore... #WebMCPApps!

Check it out:

(Proposals are our own, not offical positions. We'd love to hear what you think!)
WebMCP gives agents tools from a website. MCP Apps brings UI into the agent for the human.

So what happens when a WebMCP tool returns an MCP App? 🤔

@liadyosef, co-creator of MCP Apps, and I built an experiment to find out! 1/2 🧵

What an amazing milestone for MCP Apps ✨

Build native apps that run inside ChatGPT and Sites, using MCP Apps. And finally - auto app discovery inside conversations!

Great work by @mxstbr and the team.

MCP Apps are quickly becoming the foundation of the Agentic Web. 🚀
We are opening up our platform and you can now build full native apps with plugin extensions, and ship them right in ChatGPT. We have over 1.2B weekly users and will surface relevant plugins right in the conversations.

My talk from @aiDotEngineer SF is up!
See how we're building the real Agentic Web.

We spent two decades perfecting the web for humans - but older and younger generations already use assistants instead of Chrome.

We nede to rethink everything: youtube.com/watch?v=waI44N…

Lucky to catch @liadyosef at #AGNTConf today!

Funny thing happens when you're developing for agents and users. You develop a good experience for the agent who in turn creates and good experience for users
