The factoid that '50% of marriages end in divorce' was kinda true decades ago.

But the divorce rate peaked in 1980.

Now, less than 40% of all marriages since 2000 end in divorce.

For college graduates, it's under 30%.

For college graduates who get married after age 25, and who don't have any kids before marriage, it's under 20%.

Anybody promoting the outdated, deceptive 50% rate has some kind of anti-marriage or anti-natalist agenda.
It scares young people away from getting married and having kids. That is their goal.
the american divorce rate is at its lowest in over 50 years

congratulations to the 16% of 18-29 year olds who are married

If by “natural” you mean when people were living in caves with only fire to keep them warm, having to hunt for every meal with their bare hands, and fearing constant life-threatening diseases, wild animals, and severe weather… no capitalism isn’t “natural”

It’s way better
Capitalism is not the natural order of things it's only been here for around 500.years. Capitalism is man-made and thrives on inequality ignoring the harmful effects it does to people and the planet. That doesn't sound very natural to me.

When communists call being a stay-at-home mom “slavery” because it’s “unpaid labor,” they’re projecting their belief that people have no responsibility to take care of their own lives unless someone is externally rewarding them for it

Being unapologetically anti-Hezbollah is the bare minimum
I am not anti-Iran, I'm anti-IRGC's domestic oppression
I am not anti-Trump, I'm anti-Trump's decision to go to war with Iran
I am not anti-Israel, I'm anti-genocide
I am not anti-Saudi, I'm anti-Yemen's blockade
I am not anti-Hezbollah, I'm anti-Hezbollah's allegiance to Iran

The US government is trillions of dollars in debt trying to “end poverty”

Throwing a billion more dollars into the welfare void does nothing

The most effective weapon for ending poverty is innovating, producing, and creating jobs… which billionaires are already doing
You don’t find it weird that not a single billionaire wants to end world poverty? Doesn’t it strike you as bizarre that no one with that kind of wealth wants to be the hero who actually solves the world’s biggest problems when they literally could? Isn’t that suspicious?

Because they think anyone who opposes Western Civilization is their ally
Why does the left just ignore how Muslims treat women?

The people who are carrying water for Putin today are fundamentally the same people who carried water for Hamas after October 7.

The French riots aren’t the fault of “immigration”

There are tons of French leftists involved in the riots and plenty of immigrants whose businesses were looted

The riots are the red-green alliance taking advantage of a government that refuses to defend civilization

AI is not conscious, but more and more it resembles something that’s conscious—a philosophical zombie—and that illusion may convince too many people (“Claude is my friend!”), including the true-believers at Anthropic.

Don’t buy into the techno-woo!

If you go to a peaceful protest, and it turns into a riot, and you stay at the riot and participate in the riot it isn't a "mostly peaceful protest", it's a riot and you are a rioter.

The reason France and other European countries are stagnating is because the govts are larger than the private sector.

Your simple minded answer is…more government. Truly imbecilic.
From the high schools of France to the streets of Madrid to the universities of Tirana, young people are telling their governments the same thing: in an age of massive wealth inequality, they want a future they can believe in.

In France, students and teachers are asking for safe schools, enough teachers and smaller classes.

In Spain, for affordable rent and housing.

In Albania, for good jobs and an end to corruption.

@JDVance says this is what happens when a nation lets in too many immigrants from the global south.

He is not just morally wrong, but misreading the moment.

The is what happens when nations let wealth and power accumulate in the hands of a few.

This is what happens when young people lose hope in their future.

In America, let us listen to our young.

We need an economic and political transformation.

America's Next New Deal.

"Frictionmaxxing" used to be called "having hobbies"
I'm fascinated by the rise of frictionmaxxing as a response to a frictionless life. We engineer away inconvenience, only to discover that some of the friction we removed was part of what made life feel alive in the first place

And when they end up making life harder for everyone, they blame the rich, double down, and act confused when things keep getting worse
Too many people who claim to care about the poor are more interested in making life harder for the rich than making life easier for the poor.

France has FREE health care, paid parental leave, paid family leave, FREE child care, FREE preschool, 5 weeks paid vacation, a 35 hour work week, generous unemployment and housing benefits, and heavily subsidized higher education.

Everything the left says they want AND THEY'RE RNING SHIT DOWN.

There’s no way this improves their education system or anything in their country

So let’s call these riots what they are: violent tantrums thrown by people who don’t care about their society and are coping with their unchecked emotions by destroying everything
A French video game and cartoon store owner has his store looted in Nice.

He gets attacked from behind and then has rocks thrown at him while young rioters laugh
