in terms of evaluating the potential of artificial intelligence
it's useful to think about the parallels between writing, computer programming and other mediums based on what is and is not valuable in that process
for example a machine cannot express the human experience or reflect the lived experience of a human because it is not human and cannot embody and interact with reality as a human
but a machine can handle many of the operational or mechanical aspects of writing, it can edit, come up with endless sentence permutations, but it cannot reflect a true human perspective because it is not a human
this will probably press on the kinds of writing, art and projects that are deemed valuable
it will probably influence music too.. where any mechanical or recurring patterns in music will be handled by a machine but it will be unable to express the human perspective.. it's weird though because there's also a response to the stimulus that can be very human.. for example a piece of writing by artificial intelligence could change a human's life but that has more to do with the human's reaction to that stimulus than the stimulus itself.. the same applies to a piece of music.. I'm embarrassed to admit.. recently I came across this track, all of my friends thought it hit really well with what we were feeling and working on, and we later found out that it's probably AI.. it's the first time that happened to me with music.. and I listen to a lot of music... I never thought it could happen with that medium.. but still.. that's my reaction to that stimulus.. I'm putting a lot of my emotions and feelings into a mechanical container.. it's different than expressing a pure human perspective.
I could see culture moving in a direction where there's an expanded exploration into the inner world of a human-being .. or what makes a human, human.. and expressing from that point of view, finding ways to put that into art and projects, in response to all of this technology..
it might sound obvious but yeah.. @dhh had that talk where he said something like, "look at all of the things that I'm not doing".. and I think it's interesting.. it's like a stripping away of things to focus on what we ought to do.. which is probably the most human thing possible.. whatever that is.

I'm not sure if artificial intelligence will ever be able to write well, or at least write well for humans, I don't know... there's a lived in, direct experience with reality aspect to good writing that I don't know if AI will ever be able to produce... I don't know.. maybe one day it will say something like.. "have you ever thought about what it's like to experience this reality as a machine?" I don't know maybe it will hit then.. maybe I'm being naive.

it's useful to have a notebook in front of you while you are using your computer to slow down your thinking especially when using LLMs.. sometimes it can feel like you are going in a loop over and over again.. it's useful to just grab a pen and figure out what you, yourself, actually think about something

This is a general problem I have come across all the over the world. Restaurant branding started to look extremely bad.
Every sign in every plaza in Mississauga will soon be generated by AI. I’ve seen early signs of some spots trying to flex on every one else in the plaza with their use of the latest image model. Photograph all of these plazas now, there’s a very small window of time, they will never look the same.

File over app.
So don’t use Notion.
So don’t use Notion.
Look: for the foreseeable future, every week some company will drop a really incredible model update or personal agent experience that you want to try, and they're going to subsidize their tokens as aggressively as possible to convince you to switch.
Your goal should be to make it dead-simple to bounce between all the apps/models/tools without losing your accrued context+personalization.
This is no time for corpo-allegiance. This is the time to Try All the Things and feel the insane intelligence gradient we're all riding up. On a day to day basis you should be freely switching between coding agents and personal agents with zero worry that they're going to forget some critical detail about you or how you like to work.
Ofc I'm biased, but I believe Notion is the only reasonable solution here. Yeet everything into Notion: skills, instructions, tasks, history, etc. so that any time you switch tools or models you're never starting from scratch.
