Saw this so many days. What a joy it was to help both of these guys push each other to places they couldn’t go alone. Iron Sharpens Iron ‼️

In this game, you can’t win without sacrifices.
You have to surrender yourself to become a piece of the culture.
And if it’s easy, then it’s not Houston.

Forever Coog and Atlanta Hawks guard Kingston Flemings on his impressions of this new UH team: "They're good, honestly. They're older than our team was. Really good on defense. A Kelvin Sampson team for sure.
"They're going to go as (new point guard) DJ (Thomas) goes. He's a y've got a lot of good complimentary pieces everywhere around. They play really well together. And obviously it's just exhibition, but a good win against Michigan. Just continue to build from there.
"Coach Kellen, Coach Samps, all those coaches are going to get them ready. I'm just excited to watch them play."

Kingston Flemings' proud mom Shayla Flemings to @PaperCityMag on watching her son play an NBA game in Houston just one year after his one and only UH season started: "I thought Kingston had what it took to get in the league. But I didn't know that it was going to be one year. t his goals. So I knew he was going to try and reach
It.
"But it's amazing to see that after one year he's here now."
The Flemings saw UH assistant coach Kellen Sampson at an event earlier today. And Flemings' former UH teammate Chase McCarty is in Toyota Center to watch him play.
"They're like family," Shayla Flemings says. "When we picked Houston, it's because they felt like a family. And they still do."

Forever Coog and Dallas Mavericks guard Marcus Sasser to @PaperCityMag on seeing more and more Houston players come into the NBA every year: "I think it's just the culture that Sampson built at the University of Houston. I think we're going to continue to have good players come college game and make it to the league."
Sasser says he spent some time with Kingston Flemings, the UH point guard turned No. 8 overall pick, when the Hawks finished the preseason in Dallas last week.

Kingston Flemings flashed the playmaking and burst that made him a lottery pick in Atlanta’s 135-111 preseason win over Dallas.
Key stats (21 minutes):
• 10 points (2/6 FG, 2/4 3PT, 4/4 FT)
• 6 assists (0 turnovers)
• 4 rebounds, 1 steal
• +22
Off the bench, the tempo with crisp, zero-turnover distribution—his 6 dimes led the Hawks—while using his quick first step and vertical pop to create advantages in space and finish or kick. The efficient deep looks and free-throw perfection show a poised floor general whose athleticism lets him pressure defenses without forcing the issue. Classic early-career process for a high-upside point guard.
