This quote at @CloudNativeFdn Maintainer Summit at @KubeCon_ NA speaks to me. I've gotta say I'm someone who likes when stuff gets done. I like to get stuff done myself too. But I love to enable someone else to get stuff done. That's why I'm a manager and a maintainer 💖

Every Cloud Run service gets a default .run.app URL that embeds your project number and region. That works great, but it's a bit of a mouthful. Cloud Run now lets you claim a unique <subdomain>.cloud.run URL directly from the gcloud CLI.

The components of an open agent platform are emerging.
Today we announced the donation of Agent Substrate, gVisor, and OpenRL to the CNCF. And Agent Substrate just reached 1.0 and is GA on @googlecloud GKE.

To be able to contribute to the growth of an ecosystem and set a standard for Networking in Kubernetes has been a huge milestone and achievement for me.
When Christophe, approached me last year to join the crew and contribute to the CKNE, without hesitation, it was an immediate nity to work alongside folks like Faseela, Lin, Nicolas, Raphaël, Antonio, Mitch, and collaborate on what someone should know for a successful Kubernetes Networking launch, and let me tell you the diverse perspectives on problem solving is WHY this certification is the greatest.
For anyone taking this exam, it’s a hands-on performance-based exam with focus on:
- CNI
- Service Mesh
- Gateway API, Ingress, Egress
- L3-L7 policy
- Inference
- Multi-cluster
- BGP
And honestly so much more.
As someone who’s gone through the CCIE DC, VCIX-NV, and CKA, this probably sits at the level of a VCIX/VCAP.
A HUGE THANK YOU to the certification team, AmyJune, Alex, Kara, and Christophe for involving and making entire journey easy for us!!!
I’ll be at KubeCon next week, come find me and AMA about the CKNE 😎

If you are looking for ways to migrate agentic workloads between clusters, e.g. local to production or between production clusters, we are going to support migration of tasks in AX.

Most agent skill evaluations focus on how a skill performs once it's loaded.
You also need to test whether your skill gets called in the first place. Most evals assume the skill is already active. However, coding agents only inspect the short name and description to decide whether to invoke it.
Once you have more than a dozen skills installed, getting that frontmatter right is essential so your skill doesn't get clobbered by a neighbor with a broad description, miss valid prompts, or fire when it shouldn't.
This is the first rule of 5 that @zeroasterisk and I just shared from optimizing the Google Cloud Developer plugin. Read on for all 5 rules:

Wow, this is pretty much everything you'd want to know about running a serverless microVM with @googlecloud Run Instances.
@wietsevenema does an excellent job showing how to get a Linux instance running, attach persistent storage, and much more.

AX Studio started as an afternoon prototype but I'm thinking we should build this as an official tool.
- Start any task from prebuilt images: Gemini, OpenAI, Clade agents
- Manage and inspect tasks, state, logs
- SSH into tasks (if they allow)
- Automatically setup clusters

IaC isn't dying, it's becoming more essential. Non-deterministic layers add new volatility to the stack, but they don't break the core principles. For example, it's becoming more obvious that we want some layers to be truly reproducible.

new here? hi 👋🐹
I lead Agentic Frameworks and Languages (fancy name for Flutter, Dart & Go) DevRel at Google. I'm also a certified florist. 💐
expect: dev hot takes, launch news when I actually think it's worth sharing, and the occasional ranunculus 💙

We are building AX to be a Kubernetes for agents to be able to manage other agents. Our assumption is workloads will be provisioned and managed primarily via other agents not by humans. Agentic loop is the new job controller loop.

the secret to becoming an expert is embarrassingly boring: build in public, write down what you learned and the process behind it, teach all that to someone, help them ship
repeat for a few years, and you're solid

How do you define open source?
It’s a term we use a lot, but for the tech curious and newer minds to our industry it’s important to define🧠
@kaslinfields and Natalie Fisher break it down in this Passport to AI clip from episode 5 in Seattle

I'm thrilled to share that I’ve been promoted to Director in Google Cloud’s Agent & Developer eXperience organisation!
We are experiencing a fundamental shift in software engineering, moving from traditional workflows to AI-native, agentic development. Leading teams at the foreation is both humbling and energising.
None of this happens in a vacuum. Thank you to my phenomenal team whose hard work and creativity make everything possible, and to my mentors and leaders for their continued trust.
Onwards & upwards!

I know there's a lot of gloom with the MS buyouts and implications for Microsoft
BUT I wanted to remind that there's still massive pull for FDE hiring across the industry, and AI-related infra folks as I hear. Eg Salesforce is hiring FDEs like mad.
Keep up with the cutting edge, and you'll see more demand than if you don't!
