EXCLUSIVE: The day Premier Doug Ford’s cabinet approved the government’s ill-fated Greenbelt changes, several key figures rubbed shoulders in a private box at a Toronto Maple Leafs game.

It's detailed in a previously confidential Integrity Commissioner report on John Mutton.

NEW: The Ford government is expected to name Conservative MP Scott Aitchison as Muskoka’s first “strong chair,” @readpolicorner has learned.

Aitchison announced late last month that he would leave federal politics to “explore new opportunities.”

In 2025 Trump targeted US law firms for their political opposition

Some firms resisted by suing Trump. Others folded by agreeing to support the administration w/ pro bono work

Resisting firms took a short term financial hit but improved reputations

Updated the City Council Endorsement Matrix with today’s slate of endorsed candidates from ABC Toronto. A bit strange that an org calling for a better city is endorsing so many longtime incumbents, I got to say. datawrapper.dwcdn.net/sj4sJ/13/

So we have a second Toronto mayoral race case of "this is not actually an endorsement but any reasonable person seeing this would think that's exactly what it is"
Toronto’s former budget chief Gary Crawford texted me:
“Seeking to run the City is a huge job and an outstanding commitment. I have not and will not be endorsing any Mayoral candidate in the upcoming municipal election, nor can I endorse a fiscal plan that I have not reviewed.”

Why? OPA 320 and the city’s steadfast refusal to consider that the size of a property is less important than more homes for more people. 4.1.5 of the OP is fundamentally broken and needs a total re-write.
Toronto has prevailed at Divisional Court to thwart a lot severance to build 2 duplexes a few hundred meters away from a subway station, thanks to the city's definition of "neighbourhoods" in the official plan. canlii.org/en/on/onscdc/d…

Important correction of the I-read-too-hastily variety: the appeal tribunal *allowed* the application, the city is asking for judicial review. I regret the error! But this is arguably worse!

Eric, you stepped up and conducted yourself with drive, passion and purpose. I know that won’t change and I know it’s given Liberals a lot to think about.

As you said, we both see the opportunities ahead for Ontario and the Liberal Party, even if we don’t agree on everything. Building a stronger economy, giving young people the best start, and not being content doing the same old conventional politics the same old way. To deliver change to Ontario, and get the Liberals back on the field, it’s going to take all of us at our best working together.

I’m grateful for your endorsement and your support. I’m looking forward to your policy advice especially on the economy, housing and infrastructure. Change is coming to Ontario and together with Liberals across the province, we are ready for the fight.

Today I am ending my campaign.

I am grateful to everyone who shared our belief that Ontario Can Still Win. This is just the end of the beginning.

I am also proud to endorse Lee Fairclough (@LFairclo) for Ontario Liberal Leader and Premier of Ontario.
