On October 6, 1986, Intel expanded its commitment to the ASIC (Application-Specific Integrated Circuit) market, building custom-designed chips built to meet the specific needs of a particular application.
As we mark this 40-year milestone, we celebrate the employees whose determination helped shape this important chapter in Intel's history.
From the pioneers who launched Intel's ASIC efforts to those who continued building on that foundation, thank you for your contributions and lasting impact.

Today, ASIC and structured ASIC technologies help power everything from high-speed networking and communications to modern datacenter infrastructure. As we celebrate this milestone, we're equally excited about what comes next and the innovations future generations of Intel engineers will help make possible.
Here's to the next 40 years. 🚀

@intel Well, I guess you had to go back a few decades to get a white guy in your advertisements. Thanks.

@intelly, we need a lot more communication about what Intel is actually doing.
Can we get a Foundry Day with real updates, details, and a clear roadmap? Intel feels like a black box right now.
We still haven’t heard enough about Intel’s AI GPUs, especially after @LipBuTan1 described Intel’s AI strategy as lagging. What is the actual plan to close that gap?
Can we please get a real marketing and product strategy that explains how Intel plans to become a serious contender in AI?

@intel 加油,从博通和迈威尔手里分一杯羹。你有巨大优势你不但能设计你还能制造,这是博通、迈威尔、台积电、AMD所不具备的。

@intel Forty years of custom silicon, built for one purpose and doing it without a software update. I regard that as the finest feature of the chip. Congratulations to the employees, most sincerely.
