If you're a young man with his head screwed on who doesn't have a victim mentality, the world is yours.

A lot of your 'competition' is pathetic, to put it bluntly.

So basically, today PHP got two critical bugs that let anyone run code on your server without even logging in, which is bad, and then the details leaked before the patch was even out, which is worse, and it works on WordPress and MediaWiki and Magento and Joomla and Laravel, and Censys says like 1.5 million servers are running a version with no fix, so the NSA was like "take your system offline," and the FBI was like "take your system offline," and CISA and the UK and CERT-EU were all like "take your system offline," and then the Prime Minister of Japan, the actual Prime Minister, posted at 5:55 in the morning telling 48.8 million people to take their system offline, so everyone took their system offline, like the Dutch cybersecurity agency took its own website offline, and the Dutch parliament went offline, and the Port of Rotterdam went offline, and Finland and France and Denmark started pulling government sites, and Wikipedia went down, and Archive.org went down, and Asana and GOG and Something Awful went down, and the University of Vienna's webmail went down for some reason, and that's just PHP. Because GitLab also dropped a CVSS 10.0, which is the highest score they give out, for a bug that's been there since 2014, so that's every self-hosted GitLab for twelve years, and then LiteLLM 1.107.0 got hijacked and shipped a credential stealer and a remote access trojan in every single wheel and the Docker images, including latest, and you didn't even have to import it, just installing it was enough, and it's the second time this year, and then Railway paused every deployment on the entire platform because someone got into the environment variables, so now everyone has to rotate every secret they've ever stored there, and TiDB Cloud said someone was walking around inside with stolen credentials for basically a month and an extortion group says they took 10.6 terabytes, and Zeabur got breached for the second time in two months and is just shutting down, like the whole company, and Node.js patched remote code execution and a TLS bypass, and CISA says Plex is being actively exploited, and someone took over 300 Tor exit relays to steal SSH passwords, and SafePay ransomware has hit over 600 critical infrastructure orgs, and India's biggest bank filed a data loss incident, and Japan has been in an official state of emergency in cyberspace since October 9, which honestly explains the 5:55 AM post. Oh, and eMudhra, a certificate authority that's issued over 60 million certificates, whose entire job is proving websites are who they say they are, was supposed to be using private keys that are random numbers over a hundred digits long, and one of them was 4. Just 4. And the others were like 66 and 237. Anyway, it's Wednesday.

ok this is actually the coolest car of all time. I mean yes, it's not practical, we won't get to drive the flying one on roads, whatever. A car that can do 0-60 in under a second, drive upside down, and then do a kickflip is an incredible feat of engineering. Straight out of my childhood imagination. Some serious @donttrythis stuff right here
Turns out the future does have flying cars

Why are elected representatives so incredibly dumb?
Dude, so you’re telling us that multiple AI companies lost control of their models, hacked other companies and government agencies—exposing the AI companies and employees to potential criminal prosecution—as a regulatory capture scheme?

DO YOU KNOW HOW LUDICROUS YOU SOUND?

Well summarized!
Chamath explains the political calculus behind Obama’s anti AI speech

“This is a very important moment for a very simple reason, which is that the world is about to endow 3-6 companies with about $10 trillion of wealth.”

“And what Obama knows very well is that most of those ingly left leaning. And what he also knows is that there is a huge portion of that money that will then get put into philanthropic and charitable causes that then he and the people around him will be beneficiaries of."

“That is the truth. We already know this because we know that some of these frontier corporations actually ask you to sign up DAFTs and have a portion of your stock that you're willing to pledge. So this money is going to go to things other than consumption or savings. It's going to go into PACs, it's going to go into political movements, and they stand to disproportionately benefit."

“So this has nothing to do with prosperity. This is a very simple political calculus. If you freeze frame the economy the way it is today, a handful of organizations that will disproportionately be able to affect the Democrats will win, they will capture the lion's share of the economic gains. And then they will help the Democrats win power. That's all this is."

I've been saying this for years!

"ADHD is not a brain problem. It's a systemic problem that shows up in the brain. If your kid's brain isn't working right, don't just look north of the neck. Look at what's happening south of the border first."
A 12 year old boy walks into my office having already seen a psychiatrist, an allergist, a lung doctor, maybe a GI doctor. Seven different drugs by age 12. Kicked out of kindergarten for being disruptive. Diagnosed with ADHD and put on stimulant medication for years.

Nobody also had asthma, headaches, stomachaches, insomnia. Each doctor treated their one piece and ignored the rest.

I did a full workup instead of writing another prescription. His gut microbiome was a mess. Leaky gut. Elevated gluten antibodies. Reacting to dairy. Fungal overgrowth. Low zinc, low magnesium, low B6, low folate, low omega 3s. Lead toxicity.

He ate only processed food. Never a vegetable in his life.

So we removed the gluten, dairy, sugar and processed food. Rebuilt his microbiome with probiotics. Treated the fungal overgrowth. Chelated the lead. Corrected the nutrient deficiencies with magnesium, zinc, fish oil.

Two months later his mother brought him back. No more symptoms. No more meds. No more behavioral issues.

And his handwriting went from illegible to perfect penmanship. Same kid, same brain, two months apart.

That handwriting change is what made me write The UltraMind Solution. A brain that chaotic and disorganized became coherent and synchronized once we fixed what was happening in his body. The writing on the page was just a reflection of what was happening in his gut.

ADHD is not a brain problem. It's a systemic problem that shows up in the brain. If your kid's brain isn't working right, don't just look north of the neck. Look at what's happening south of the border first.

I was there Friday night in San Francisco for the @REK event, and this is something you had be in the room to get it, but I’ll try to describe it.

It hit completely differently from robot-versus-robot fights. Those are entertaining, sure, but after a while they start to feel strange. You’re empathizing with machines that aren’t conscious, don’t feel pain, and don’t feel anything. Robot versus human hits different and raw, it was an emotional rollercoaster. I felt real fear for the human fighter, and real excitement, mostly fear, and when it ended there was a huge wave of relief.

The robots were remote-controlled, of course, but the kicks were genuinely powerful. We know how power-dense those actuators are, and the human fighter took real hits to his body. The kicks from the six-foot-tall EngineAI T800 seemed nearly impossible to dodge when they were hurled in the right direction. The Unitree H1 was even harder to deal with because its dynamic balance is so good that it just refused to go down.

This could be the start of a genuinely new entertainment genre. But I can tell you this: if someone wants to fight a robot with a real AI brain and real perception, you’d need robots that are far less powerful, throttled down, and compliant. Otherwise it ends in serious injury or worse.

This is the beginning of something different in robotics and entertainment, and we need to think seriously about it before regulators use moments like this as fearmongering fodder to throttle the entire humanoid frontier. x.com/frankie_lapenn…

“Don't let this doomsday narrative cause somebody to relieve them of the laws that currently exist.

Go and read between the lines. They're actually s; they're asking to be relieved of the laws we do have.”
