Watching Elizabeth Holmes spend her final days before going to jail speed-running the creation of Theranos 2.0 kind of redeemed for me the idea that the Empire would just make a second Death Star.

How much of our legal system is dealing with litigation started by people with moderate to severe personality disorders (a la Elizabeth Holmes).
I wish there were more protections to this. It costs a lot of money, and the sanity of so many people.

I just rewatched, it's at about an hour & 50 mins into The Inventor (streaming on HBO Max). Parloff has a good quote, "this is real lunacy... what is coming out of her mouth is not mapping onto reality as you or I know it"
@rfuisz It’s worth rewatching the end of @alexgibneyfilm documentary for the @rparloff interview where Parloff is just dumbfounded that Holmes claimed to be ignorant he was doing a cover story for @FortuneMagazine

We might be over-intellectualizing YCSE.
It might just be a documentary about how much a set of directors will beclown you if you try to micromanage them 😂

Here for Billy crashing out 🍿
John, guilt by association?
Your story started with Richard Fuisz. You defended his credibility. He calls you a friend.
His posts: Hitler praise, vile anti-Black racism, antisemitism. You built your story on this friend of yours.
Does your standard apply to you, or just us?

RT @wendellsandico: Elizabeth Holmes completely blanking every time she doesn’t have an answer that’s already PR and legal approved

The idea that Amanda Seyfried owes Holmes an apology for portraying her in a miniseries is asinine, especially coupled with the fact that Holmes has never once been sorry about her own actions (including driving a person to suicide!) and still believes her own bullshit
I think Nathan Fielder did a really good job with You Can See Everything. Especially in showing how unwilling Amanda Seyfried was to acknowledge her own role in potentially harming another person. He had everyone looking at one another and questioning everyone else’s intentions, while seemingly being completely unwilling to examine their own behavior. I thought Amanda’s resistance to doing that was especially revealing
I also obviously think Billy is terrible. I think he’s cruel and exploitative. I’ve seen Elizabeth’s tweets for years and thought they were her. Finding out they’re his was jarring and sad.
But as much as I dislike Billy, I think he made a very good point. Why would he care what Amanda thinks? She’s an actress who has profited from portraying his wife as a bizarre and dishonest and manipulative freak to an audience that is largely voyeuristic, incredibly binary in their moral thinking, and seemingly unable to separate fiction from reality
I don’t think that Amanda needed to defend Elizabeth or excuse anything she’s done but I do think it’s bizarre how unwilling she seemed to consider that she might have contributed to another person’s suffering

I had finally made peace with being roasted by Elizabeth Holmes. Then I found out in a crowded movie theater that it was actually her weird husband Billy. That feels significantly more humiliating.

I saw You Can See Everything for the 2nd time yesterday. Here's what struck me the 2nd time:
- Elizabeth just doesn't say much at all, even though she talks. It seemed more lawyer-coached the 2nd time around
- Boy does Elizabeth's father look scared of Billy...

- if Billy succeeds in getting profits from the movie, it should go to restitution, especially for the smaller investors who lost life savings. Duh!
- every scene in the 2nd half is Billy looking worse than he did in the previous scene. It's even more striking 2nd time! wow

- Amanda is great but idk, she lacks the hardcore disassociation that Elizabeth has. I wonder if any actor could really achieve that. Seems hard.

something that i think gets lost in the theranos stuff is that it’s not just that the stuff didn’t work and they lied, though they did, it’s that what they were trying to do was straight up not possible in any way.

Their obsession with the quote is fascinating because … she did create a character. She put on a fake voice and went to work in Steve Jobs cosplay.
It’s bizarre to watch them cling to a word as if it might somehow disprove everything if one reporter was wrong about something.

In today's @nytimes Backstory newsletter, I talk to Amy Chozick about the new Elizabeth Holmes documentary and Holmes's dispute over a quote from Chozick's NYT profile of her. The movie brings up the quote several times as it assesses Holmes's veracity. nytimes.com/2026/10/22/ins…

I’ve known Kevin and DJ for over a decade and worked for DJ at LinkedIn. Excited for @warpsciences: tighter OODA loops for science. AI helps plan experiments, robots execute, results improve the models. Faster cycles of observing, orienting, deciding, and acting to discover new medicines. 🚀
💥 Introducing Warp Sciences, a new company applying AI and robotics to help the world develop new medicines faster.
We’ve raised a $215M Series A led by @lightspeedvp to bring frontier AI out of the browser and into the lab, and build scientific capacity here in America.
I co-founded Warp with my long-time friend @dpatil, FAIR co-founder @manohar_paluri, and drug hunter Sol Reisberg. The early team is full of incredible people like @bkspears9, who helped achieve Q>1 fusion at LLNL.
