My mother used to say when I was kid, “Joey, nobody’s better than you. Everyone is your equal and everyone is equal to you.” That’s always been my north star. It's guided me my whole life, including during my presidency. In my new book, PROMISE ME, AMERICA, I write about how e decisions I made in the Oval Office. It’s available for pre-order now, and I’m looking forward to sharing it with you. promisemeamerica.com.

Jill and I are mourning the loss of our friend Dolores Huerta, a giant of the American labor and civil rights movements.

For more than seventy years, Dolores fought for working people. She organized in the fields, she walked the picket lines, and she sat across the table from people who never expected to have to negotiate with her.
I say often the middle class built this country, and unions built the middle class. Dolores understood that in her bones. Well into her nineties she was still traveling, marching and organizing for working families, for women, for immigrants, for LGBTQ Americans.

Even this year, she showed a different kind of courage, telling a painful truth she had carried for sixty years so others would not have to carry theirs alone.

America is fairer and more decent because of Dolores Huerta. Jill and I send our love to her entire family, and to everyone who found their voice because of her.

May God bless Dolores Huerta. Sí, se puede.

My dad used to say, “Joey, when you get knocked down, get up.” I’ve leaned on those words my whole life, in politics and with my family, through the best days and the hardest ones. I write about that and more in my new book, PROMISE ME, AMERICA. It’s out November 17th, and you PromiseMeAmerica.com. I’m looking forward to folks reading it.

Proud to cast my ballot earlier today in the Delaware primary election.

American democracy begins and ends at the ballot box. There is no more important civic duty nor fundamental right to be defended. Voting defines our freedom and makes everything possible.

Today, on National Voter Registration Day, I hope every American will take a moment to make sure you are registered, ensure your information is up to date, and make a plan to vote this November.

Do it at IWillVote.com.

The work to secure our democracy and protect our fundamental rights and freedoms is not over in this country. Each generation must join the work to preserve our democratic values and norms.

Start today. Get engaged. And together, we'll ensure American democracy lasts another 250 years and beyond.

Twenty-five years ago today, we lost 2,977 souls and in the years since, thousands more to illnesses caused by the attack on our country.

This morning, Jill and I hold close the families who carry that loss every day. We honor the heroes of September 11th: the firefighters and police officers who rushed into the towers and the Pentagon, the passengers who fought back over Shanksville, and the generation that stepped up to serve in the aftermath.

Even now, we remember the greatest lesson of one of our nation's darkest days: at our most vulnerable, unity is our most powerful strength.

We will never forget.
Former President Barack Obama, former President Joe Biden, former President George W. Bush, former President Bill Clinton and their wives are at Friday morning’s New York City 9/11 ceremony.

Every September we mark Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. This year it’s more personal for me.

More than 330,000 American men this year will hear the words we did last spring when I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. By the time we found it, it had already spread to my bones.

When prostate cancer is caught early, the five-year survival is close to 100%.

So have the conversation with your doctor. Don’t put it off.

If you're at average risk, that conversation should start around 50, and the guidelines now say screening every 2 to 4 years. If you're a Black man, start it at 45 or earlier. You are nearly 70% more likely to get this disease and 2 to 4 times more likely to die from it. Which is an outrage in the richest country in the world.

If your father or your brother had prostate cancer, start the conversation at 45, and even earlier if more than one of them did.

I am deeply grateful to the doctors, nurses and other medical professionals who helped to control my cancer and who continue to take such good care of me. Their skill, dedication, and compassion mean so much. The radiation treatment from last fall worked as intended, and I continue to do the things I care about, like finishing my memoir.

Thank you to everyone who has reached out and continues to keep me and my family in your prayers. We appreciate every single one of you.

It’s my hope and prayer that by sharing our experience and being part of this important conversation, we can help save lives. Talk to your doctors. Ask the hard questions. Do it for yourself, and do it for the people who love you.

And no matter what, keep the faith. God bless you.

I’ve said it my entire career: the middle class built America. And unions built the middle class. To every worker who's ever punched a clock, worked a double, or walked a line for fair wages – and to everyone who stands up for them, at the bargaining table, in the statehouse, or k you. This country runs in large part because of you.

Simply put, Dolly Parton was an American original. She was an inspiration to millions. She was a relentless advocate for women and for equality. Through her Imagination Library, she placed the gift of reading into the hands of millions of children because she understood literacy is the foundation of opportunity.

But perhaps most importantly, Dolly treated everyone with kindness and respect. She lived her values with a flair and vitality for life that was uniquely her own. She was a trailblazer in every sense of the word, and she will be missed by millions around the world.

Jill and I are keeping her family, her friends, and her millions of fans in our prayers.

God bless Dolly Parton.

For the first time in 75 years, the Sam Mcguire Cup comes home to Mayo, Ireland.

I said it three years ago when I was in Ballina: Mayo for Sam!

And I meant it.

I said it because I know what it means not just the county of Mayo but to my own family’s story.

Today, the
Congratulations to my friends in Mayo. You earned this victory. Enjoy every minute. Sam is coming home ☘️

Jill and I are shocked by the sudden passing of Lindsey Graham.

Lindsey and I served together in Congress for over a decade, and worked closely on many issues throughout the years. We traveled the world together as members of the Senate Foreign Relations committee. We disagreed often, and sometimes loudly.

Lindsey and I did agree on the profound importance of public service. Like me, he loved the Senate as an institution, even with all its flaws and complexities.

To his family, his staff, his constituents in South Carolina, and everyone who loved him: Jill and I are keeping you in our prayers.

Two hundred and fifty years ago, a group of Americans signed their names to a piece of parchment and made a promise no nation had ever made before: that we're all created equal, endowed by our Creator with unalienable rights — life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

We're ory built not on ethnicity, or blood, or geography but on an idea. That's always been what makes us exceptional. We chose that path 250 years ago but that’s where the work began, not where it ended. Every generation has had to choose it again. At Valley Forge, at Gettysburg, on the beaches of Normandy, in the streets of Selma. Americans recommitted themselves to the principles on which our nation was founded.

Now it's our turn.

There's nothing guaranteed about our democracy. We have to fight for it, defend it, and earn it. Over and over, year after year. That's not a burden. That's what it means to be an American.

250 years in, we still haven't fully lived up to those words in the Declaration. But we've never walked away from them, and this July 4, I hope all of us can commit to one thing: that we never will. I don't believe we're as divided as we're told we are. I've bet my whole life on the American people, and I'm not stopping now.

Happy 250th birthday, America. Our story isn't finished. Let's keep writing it together.

Generation after generation, men and women put on the uniform knowing the risk — and went anyway knowing they might not come home. Knowing their families would carry that for the rest of their lives.

To the families still carrying that weight — I see you. The pain doesn’t go the pride.

Freedom has never been guaranteed. It has to be earned, defended, and sometimes paid for in the hardest way imaginable. Today on Memorial Day, we stop, we slow down, and we remember those who did.

We honor them.

We thank them.

And we work hard to live up to what they died for. Keep the democracy they believed in worth believing in. That is the ultimate tribute for their sacrifice.

Long before either of us became public figures, I first knew Mike Purzycki as a stand-out football player at the University of Delaware. I admired him for his incredible talents on the field and even then, his work ethic and character were evident. We became friends, and stayed friends, for the next 60 years. Throughout my time in public service, I continued to count on Mike’s loyal friendship and support.

Mike was whip smart, disciplined, and impressive by any measure. But he was also humble, funny, and kind. That combination is what made him a leader this community respected and revered.

It was Mike’s vision and strategic thinking, along with his charisma and sheer persistence, that turned the Riverfront from an abandoned industrial site into a thriving commercial corridor. As Mayor, it was his thoughtful leadership style, his willingness to listen, and his earnest desire to help that won him the trust and affection of his constituents.

Mike’s talents meant he could have done anything with his life. But starting from his time on New Castle County Council and continuing on through his service as Mayor, Mike gave all that he had to making life better for the people around him.  That included the devotion he showed to his family.

When Mike spoke about Bette, his face lit up with love and delight. He brimmed with pride when sharing stories about his kids or grandkids.  There was much to admire about Mike, but his love and commitment to family defined him.

Jill and I and the entire Biden family join the people of Wilmington in giving thanks for Mike’s lifetime of friendship and service. God Bless Mayor Mike.
