But I will (very excitedly) be in Israel where I hear there’s something important happening on Tuesday…

Really looking forward to covering my first international election. Stay tuned! 🇮🇱💙🇮🇱

This has gone viral in France.
The wonderful black woman is a credit to France.
The smug, haute-bourgeois blonde an embarrassment.
“Your shops that got looted were nice, okay, but we’re starving.”

People looked this girl up and her dad is a corporate executive who worked for Shell.

What a smug psychopath.

Excl: A Green party activist who praised Iran’s former supreme leader for his “integrity and decency” and who is part of a campaign expressing solidarity with the Islamic republic helped to pass the party’s controversial anti-Zionism policy, The Times can reveal.

Niloufar “Nilly” Brook backed the “Zionism is racism” motion adopted at the Greens’ conference, has appeared in videos with Greens for Palestine and been praised by group members.

But she separately praised Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s former supreme leader who was killed in a joint US-Israeli strike in February. She said that “the legacy of Khamenei has that sort of integrity and decency”, that he had been “heavily demonised” in the West and had “died with honour”.

Khamenei ruled Iran from 1989 and presided over the violent suppression of protests.

Brook was also involved with Iran’s Resistance Rising, whose social media profile declared “solidarity with the Islamic Republic of Iran and the resistance in their fight against imperialism”. She interviewed activists for the group, including at a protest outside RAF Fairford in August.

In April Brook promoted the Iran–UK Allies Forum in a video opposing the proposed proscription of the IRGC.

The forum separately defended the Iranian authorities’ response to January protests in which thousands were killed. Executions of people convicted in connection with the protests continued this month.

Brook said: “All of my actions are in support of diplomatic communication in an attempt to transcend the volatile, divisive rhetoric that is both short-sighted and dangerous.”

Asked about her praise for Khamenei, her relationship with Iran’s Resistance Rising and her role in shaping Green party policy Brook said: “I’ve said what needs to be said and I’m very busy.”

This is the most niche tweet I’ve ever written. But I cannot believe the ease and speed with which @tomhfh just killed off the Stats for Lefties page. One threat to PIP and BAM it’s over. I’m so embarrassed at how niche this is but also I can’t get over how funny at the same time 😂😂😂

EXCL: The creator of the ‘Palestine poppy’ is an Oxford-educated paediatrician who has written books for Muslim teenagers justifying stoning and warning that homosexuality is ‘a test from Allah’.

The Spectator can now reveal that Abdul Qader Ismail is an active member of Greens for Palestine and co-sponsored the group’s ‘Zionism is Racism’ policy. He is also the author of a book series titled An Introduction to Challenging Topics for Muslim Teens. The books provide justifications (within specific conditions) for stoning, crucification, cutting off hands and female genital mutilation.

Ismail describes same-sex attraction as a ‘test from Allah’ and says homosexual relationships are wrong. He writes: ‘Even if we have homosexual feelings, we would not be able to act upon them without displeasing Allah… Having homosexual feelings is not a sin, and if we pray to Allah to help us and we do not act upon our feelings, Allah will be pleased with us.’

The battle of narratives is going strong.

Our countries are a recurring target.

It is time to act to tell the stories that make us strong. Let’s live our own story!

Protect what matters - our democracy.

Just a reminder that France recognised the state of "Palestine," banned Israeli ministers from entering France & announced national measures to prohibit trade in goods from Israeli settlements.

Pro-Palestine activists still burnt down parts of France. Appeasing them never works.

Big scoop from Tim in this week's mag. Jonathan Powell has told friends he might quit No.10 amid disagreements on Foreign Policy direction under Burnham/Miliband.

Tim, James Heale and I discuss the exclusive and its implications on today's Coffee House Shots (dropping shortly)

Big and positive development from Labour. Surprising - but pleasantly so
BREAKING: The Labour Party has said that power-sharing agreements with the Green Party will end unless local Greens explicitly reject their party's "Zionism is racism" policy

The Labour Party has asked all Labour groups in power-sharing agreements with the Green Party to review their arrangements in local government after the prime minister's words at PMQs yesterday.

Bridget Phillipson MP, Chair of the Labour Party, said:
“The Prime Minister has been completely clear: this policy is wrong and antisemitic, and has no place in British politics.
“Where local Labour Parties currently have an arrangement with the Greens in local government, we expect their Green counterparts to make clear that they reject this position and to call on their national leadership to reconsider the policy.
“We have asked local Green groups to respond as a matter of urgency. Where they are unable to provide that assurance, Labour will bring any such local arrangement to an end. This isn’t an issue of party politics; it’s about doing what is right and upholding the values anyone holding public office should share.
“The Labour Party fought hard to address antisemitism within our own party and ensure it had no place in our politics. We have a responsibility to uphold those same standards in our relationships with other parties.”

Anyone who has been around Brixton station of late will be aware that the area is covered in litter. Bins are overflowing, there is a severe homelessness issue and it's crackhead/anti-social behaviour galore. So, shall we check in on what Lambeth Council will be spending time discussing at its meeting this evening?

Well! Tonight Lambeth Council, led by a Green-Lib Dem coalition is due to discuss Motion 3 (Green Group): Palestine – End the Genocide, Complicity and Impunity. "This motion condemns Israel's actions in Gaza, calls for an immediate ceasefire, humanitarian aid, and the release of hostages. It also calls on the UK Government to halt arms exports, impose economic sanctions, and provide evidence to the International Criminal Court. It further proposes that the Council review its contracts and investments to divest from companies complicit in violations of international law."

Note they haven't even been bothered to update the language still referencing hostages...

This is Lambeth Council's priority while some of the worst crime and antisocial behaviour in London is happening as we speak within its boundaries.

“Of five full council motions only ONE tackles local issues”. Absolute insanity. Parts of Lambeth (where I used to live) are on its knees and this is the state of the council. For shame.
Equally frustrated by politicking in Lambeth: of five Full Council motions (3 Green, 1 Lab, 1 LD), only *one* tackles local issues.

Lambeth deserves the full attention of its elected councillors.
