Said thus 5 years back. Still stand by it.
India 🇮🇳 has to make more pragmatic, risky decisions regarding Myanmar 🇲🇲 imo.
While 🇮🇳 might be engaging with Kachin (KIA) regarding rare earths, the flagship Kaladan project remains stalled:

Kaladan corridor in brief:
- Caego taken from Zorinpui 🇮🇳 to Paletwa 🇲🇲 by road. Cargo barges. Taken to Sittwe port operated by 🇮🇳.
- Road completed till border. Land cleared in 🇲🇲 stretch but not built. Jetty at Paletwa is ready.

Now the fun part:
- 🇮🇳 border is with Chin state of 🇲🇲
- Paletwa is also in Chin. But Sittwe is in Rakhine state.
- Rakhine focused Arakan Army (AA) currently controls the entire stretch till 🇮🇳 border, including Paletwa & other stretches in Chin areas. Paletwa is now considered by AA to be a district of Arakan state.
- AA offensive has captured all of Rakhine but Sittwe, Chinese port-SEZ Kyaukpyu & the island of Munaung. Their offensive appears to have stalled, mostly.
- AA is interested in legitimacy & has not harmed Kaladan or the Chinese investments.

The main strategic objectives of 🇮🇳 are stability & access to NE states. We don't want the myriad insurgent groups in 🇮🇳 as well as 🇲🇲 to destabilize the area.
However, ground reality also includes:
- Tatmadaw has continued to leverage anti-India groups for its own goals against the resistance.
- Tatmadaw control over 🇲🇲 is not for the benefit of their people & is not necessarily in 🇮🇳 interest either. 🇲🇲 has been troubled for decades thanks to them. 🇮🇳 needs stability across the border here for development & access.
- 🇮🇳 is building a border fence along the 🇲🇲 border & seeking to settle minor disputes. Atleast the need for a fence was realized after decades, phew. FMR can't happen when there's a rather never ending war on the other side.
- Even if the Tatmadaw miraculously gives up, the dozens of EAOs & groups in 🇲🇲 will keep it a very conflict ridden / unstable nation.

What can 🇮🇳 realistically achieve here?
- Fence, being realized
- Strikes against anti-India insurgents, being done on a need basis
- Rare earths, being explored
- Engage with EAOs, being done but can improve more. If 🇨🇳 can have deep ties with 🇲🇲 EAOs along its border, why can't 🇮🇳? Imo Tatmadaw has proven itself uninterested/unable to truly uproot anti-Indian groups. Shouldn't that be the bare minimum expected froma neighboring "government"? The larger EAOs are not exactly against 🇮🇳, perhaps they will do better job against these fringe anti-India groups of supported & trusted by 🇮🇳. And they can use that support.
- Kaladan: Now 🇮🇳 has engaged with AA but little progress on the ground. Can 🇮🇳 & AA do something more here? AA offers NE a link to the Bay of Bengal, almost all of it under their control.
- This is not just about Kaladan, access is just one part of our core needs. Development of the border areas in 🇲🇲 also means stability for 🇮🇳. Tatmadaw has been given enough chances. Perhaps we can see if atleast AA, if not other groups, can prove to be better partners. Perhaps realistic decisions regarding the sovereignty of 🇲🇲 or atleast Tatmadaw's monopoly over parts of it can be made.

Reposting.
On Pakistan.

The rule (role) in proxy further strengthened.

Incumbent PM & DM are useful 'tools'. Will be the fall guys if things go awry.

Power now comprehensively in hands of the Pakistani Armed Forces in a more overt (for the establishment there anyway) way.

Rearm, re-equip while salvaging the "image" - charade of "victory" reinforced.

A deflection with IK the possible bogey to divert the attention .... action against him will be a calculated move to further consolidate power. (Pakistan Supreme Court ruling allowing Military Courts to try Civilians was Step 1; action against IK may lead to civil protests - martial law?)

Will allow PA to get a breather as it lacks the ability to undertake a military action over IWT. Deflect citizens' attention. But this is a temporary move.

Interesting times.

On Kangladesh.

Chief Adviser remains a tool for US, China, Pakistan in varying capacities. Mutually beneficial in short term.

Entry of US into Bangladesh, while aimed at checking China primarily, plays into longer strategic calculus of keeping India in check too. Intervening on Pakistan's behalf (by US) is a further pointer. Have always said that after China, India is next.

For China -

Munir is, for all practical purposes, beholden to US. CPEC is a suspect for China now. China will try to stymie the losses here by military hardware diplomacy.

Bangladesh is a short investment to add a pressure point on India. Should India show a softer stand to China, they will dump it quickly. They have a hold, for now, in Myanmar.

Takeaways:

India needs to up its domestic game - production, manufacturing & tech needs to be focused on. Indigenous & self reliance can not be mere slogans now.

Mobilization of national resources in a major way for strengthening basic architecture of society & economy is of utmost urgency.

Action against aliens & illegals, must be done now.

Interesting, but risky times ahead

It is okay. Your flight has a block time. Lands within the appointed time. In a country where a Pax pushes past the operating Captains in a rush to board aircraft as if Gold Medal is to be won, something needs to be done keeping in view the office (not a person).
Boarding on AI 882 AMD-DEL is delayed by 20 minutes because Supreme Court Judge Vipul Pancholi & wife had to be VIP boarded first. They walk in with a posse of 6 guards + 3 AI staffers. Is this the VIP culture that India’s judiciary advocates? @MLJ_GoI ?

With the acknowledgement that the Offr concerned should focus exclusively on his remit, the Chinese still have that concept of trying to deny India a breakthrough as, else, if achieved, India will be able to rapidly change the situation in the concerned sector & consolidate.
I remember reading an article written by a Chinese military officer (perhaps a Border Defence Regiment Commander) about his time serving on Indo-Tibet border in the eastern sector, perhaps near Bhutan or Arunachal. Time period should be around 2000s or early 90s.

The base he was commanding had a simple mandate to hold any Indian advance for 30 minutes. If Indian forces advanced past him in 29:59 minutes, he'd be considered a failure and treated accordingly. If he held on for 30 minutes or more, then he'd be a celebrated war hero.

Now our senior para-military commanders are singing the same tune as him. Copium of drones and Ukraine war added for extra flavour too. How fortunes change in such a short time.😅

Fall of a nation starts with moralizing every action needed to be undertaken to protect it. When a willingness to undertake the most deplorable of acts to safeguard the nation invites nothing but derision, hostility & at times, retaliation by those who enjoy the safety afforded
What turned the nation that once set the standard for Western civilisation into a people that now hates its own history, sacrifices its own children, and bends the knee to those who want it destroyed?

Britain was the moral compass of the free world. Cold, reserved, upid, never suicidal. While America turned the hamburger into a global brand, you drank tea with an accent that announced you as the heirs of Shakespeare, common law, parliamentary government and an empire that had shaped the modern world. You were not ashamed of what made you British. You treated it as a birthright.

What changed?
How did a people famous for the stiff upper lip become addicted to self-flagellation?
How did defending your borders, your culture and your own become a thought crime, while importing those who openly despise everything you represent became a civic virtue?
The moment anyone names the pattern, it is not outsiders who come for them. It is their own institutions.

You keep open the embassy of the Iranian regime that has plotted terror on British soil and called for the murder of Britons. You sanction the one ally that warned you and helped stop the attack. You send troops abroad while jihadists walk free on your streets. Anyone who points this out is branded the problem by the same establishment that created it.

Other nations should study Britain as a warning, not a model. Watch for the symptoms: when your elites treat your own people as the enemy. When patriotism becomes a sin and open borders a sacrament. When the votes of those who reject your civilisation matter more than the safety of those who built it. Britain chose that path. The results are no longer deniable.

Protect your own people first. Stop appeasing those who hate you.
Enough is enough is enough!

of those actions, is taken as barbaric, inhuman & evil, that willingness leaves those who shouldered the burden. Nobody wants to go down for a cause that is not worthy, and a cause that can not be retrieved.

Make a Civil Services cadre with a very big caveat - eligibility only for those who have served minimum 5 years in Military Services & other professional services with recognized institutions (power to recognize such institutions to be decided by GoI) subject to military laws 😁
The Rajamannar Committee recommend the abolition of the All India Services (IAS, IPS, and IFS).

I have a simple quote I use in life:

"If I can 'also do it', then why not you
And if only I can do it, then why do you"

Holds for professional & personal life - both.
Shalini was a staunch feminist. She married Arun 4 years ago. She had a few conditions - nobody will question her choices, nobody will interfere in her life, she will work & earn, she will wear whatever she wants, etc.

Arun was also a feminist. He believed in - her life, her choied.

After they got married, one day Shalini was leaving for a club party at 11 pm. She told Arun. Arun said, ok. He didn't ask where she is going. He didn't ask who is meeting. He didn't ask when she will return.

Shalini stayed out till 4 am. Arun was asleep. When she returned he didn’t ask anything. He just opened the door, said, love you, and went back to sleep.

After a few months, Shalini got a better job offer in another city. She told Arun. Arun congratulated her, wished her good luck and said he is happy for her. He didn't ask which company, which city, how is she going to manage, does she even want to go, nothing.

Anyway, she relocated to the new city, took the new job. Arun told her he will find a new job in her city and relocate. One day, Shalini had a minor accident. She called Arun and told him. Arun replied - you are a strong, independent woman. You will handle it. Don't worry.

After 4 years of marriage, Shalini now wonders if she wants Arun to treat her like a strong, independent woman or a protected, looked out for woman. She was very clear that she didn't want interference, but now she has started to look at zero interference as total indifference and that bothers her.

Shalini is confused. And so are many other women like her. Feminism has confused them. The social dynamic pressurises them to take on the role of strong, independent woman. But the heart desires, what the heart desires.

A 400 year old movement can't diminish the million year old evolutionary need of a woman to be looked after and cared for by her man. Many women perhaps want both, but they won't say it outright.

I have no clue why Indians are extrapolating the unique geographical challenges faced by Israel (lack of depth & proximity of major population & MIC centres to hostile neighbours) for conduct of defence, to Indian situation.
Its not valid.
It is a saturation attack. Wave after wave of rockets. To deplete air defence stockpiles. A scenario of high possibility in the Indian subcontinental context. S-400s and MR-SAMs are for strategic defence. Tactically would need an entirely different solution.

As things become clear.
Going forwards, the residual capacities of the DPSUs will remain with a more "lean" profile, greater integration of private industries into modernization efforts of forces & reliance on commonality with diversified supply chains, involving like minded nations, shall be a norm.

Just did a back of the envelope calculations for FPVs / tactical short range UAVs held for Infantry.

Already runs into 10s of 1000s in my very conservative estimates with more churned out regularly.

•Aile, dünyanın en büyük donör bankası Danimarka merkezli Cryos International'a başvurdu. Banka, söz konusu merkeze daha önce hiç yumurta teslimatı yapmadığını açıkladı.

•Merkez, yumurtaların Cryos'tan alındığını iddia etmişti. Yapılan testler yumurtaların Türkiye'deki çeteden temin edildiğini gösterdi.

•Aynı klinikte benzer yöntemlerle tedavi gören onlarca yabancı aile de çocukları için gen testi yaptırdı.

•Danimarkalı veya İskandinav kökenli donör vaadiyle fahiş fiyatlara satılan üreme hücrelerinin sahte olduğu anlaşıldı. 30 çocuğun biyolojik kökeninin Türk olduğu kesinleşti.

The Great FAFO
I'm old enough to remember Ukraine before February 2022. Before the great PR makeover. Before billions in British public money started flowing. Before the swastikas were quietly airbrushed out of the picture and yesterday's neo-Nazi problem became today's inconvenient history.
Ross Kemp travelled to Ukraine for his Extreme World documentary series, investigating the rise of the far right and the Azov Battalion, including its neo-Nazi elements and symbolism.

This was British mainstream television, not Russian propaganda.

Funny how quickly history gets rewritten when the geopolitical interests change and the public chequebook comes out.

Of course, Ukraine's corruption, extremist movements and internal divisions didn't magically disappear in February 2022. But suddenly, mentioning what British journalists had openly reported for years was enough to get you branded a Kremlin sympathiser.

Well, here's Ross Kemp reporting from Ukraine in 2015, long before the political rebranding.

No Russian bots. No Kremlin script. Just the history they would rather you didn't remember.
