This is an absolute disgrace
An Army veteran has reportedly been turned away from a Wetherspoon pub in Gosport for wearing a poppy.
Footage has emerged of a British Army veteran being refused entry to The Star. A member of staff tells him the poppy is “political” and that he will not be served while wearing leged to have taken place in Gosport, a town currently grappling with anti-immigration protests.
In footage shared on Facebook, a doorman can be heard saying: “Really sorry mate, you can’t come in with a poppy I’m afraid. It’s political.”
He tells the veteran he can re-enter if he removes the poppy and puts it in his pocket, but warns him not to put it back on inside or he will be asked to leave and refused service.
A Wetherspoon spokesperson said: “Wetherspoon has long been a supporter of the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal, with poppies for sale in our pubs, including The Star. There is no ban on poppies in Wetherspoon pubs.”

Again, why is this news? If a product is faulty they MUST replace it under consumer law.

Because a certain kind of man believes that not getting everything he wants from women is oppression. This applies both to incels and to the type of trans-identified man who insists that speech, laws and physical spaces should be reconfigured around his self-image.
Why is asking for female-only spaces called hateful?

Andy Burnham should drop his EU obsession and focus on the country's real problems. We don't need another decade of back-and-forth over Europe.
And all for the grand prize of handing over control of our borders to the people who let 60,000 migrants break into Spain in one day.

Andy Burnham has opened the door to freedom of movement with the EU and said that the country needs to have an “evidence-based debate” about the issue

💔Please, world, hear the voices of Afghan women. Slogans alone are not enough.
Last night, one of our members from Afghanistan heard a woman and her daughters screaming and crying as the husband was beating them. By morning, the woman’s body was covered in bruises, and her a bad condition. When we asked what had happened, we learned that the husband wanted to marry a second wife and was telling his first wife that she could not have Son . When the wife and daughters opposed his decision, he started beating them.
💔 This is the respect women and girls receive inside their own homes. Outside their homes, schools and workplaces are closed to them, and they have been erased from society.

Good. It was utter madness that the BBC ever thought it was acceptable to publish “educational tools” pushing left-wing political agendas onto schoolchildren in the first place.
I wrote to the BBC calling for them to be removed, & I’m glad they’ve listened.

The BBC has no business pushing a left-wing agenda on our children. Games urging pupils to campaign for Amnesty International, which branded gender-critical women’s rights organisations “anti-rights”, or promoting open borders are completely unacceptable.
The BBC must be n to the BBC demanding these “educational games” be removed.

This 👇🏼 like vat tax on private schools, (the only nation that taxes education)… all the student politics greed & envy laws just reduce income revenue, & lose jobs! Imbecilic economics
The Laffer Curve strikes again. Rachel Reeves’s absurd increases to stamp duty have backfired after tax receipts from property sales above £5m fell by £541m in the 18 months following her 2024 budget when she raised the second-home stamp duty surcharge to 5%.
Data from estate w that in the 18 months subsequent to the budget, the number of sales above £5m dropped by 14% from 2,569 to 2,208, when compared with the 18 months before the budget. Of course it is not just the stamp duty that is lost but also the economic activity that accompanies the property transactions.
Reeves has just signed up to the Chartwell Speakers agency to sell speeches for money. Surely for anyone to buy a speech from her is a badge of idiocy?

A 15-year-old schoolboy was arrested by four West Midlands Police officers after a Conservative councillor complained about being mocked online.
Fraser, a 15-year-old Reform UK activist, was woken by police and arrested in front of his neighbours. His mugshot and DNA were taken. Even his shoes were confiscated as he was left in a cell.
What had he done? He had criticised a Conservative councillor on Facebook for wearing shorts and a T-shirt to a council meeting. When the councillor later attended a meeting in a suit, Fraser remarked that he was thankfully not dressed like a “rent boy”.
The story has become a global embarrassment. It has even reached the New York Post, where our American friends have expressed gratitude for the free-speech protections of the First Amendment.
Politicians must not use the police as their personal force to silence criticism or mockery.
Fraser is still, two months on, waiting to hear if he’ll be charged with a crime.
If a 15-year-old can be arrested for a jokey comment online, anyone can.
