A large, carefully planned Russian propaganda operation appears to be underway. Having starved people in the town of Oleshky for months, Russia, withe US help, will now "liberate" it. Read @ZarinaZabrisky below:
🔴 Behind me, you can see Oleshky: the town no one wanted to hear about nine months ago.
Now, the world knows but the ordeal is not over.
The next week ceasefire will be used for a “press tour” to whitewash Russia's war crimes.
Don't fall for Russian propaganda.

I am genuinely astonished that, after Donald Trump has spent the past two years stripping Ukraine of virtually all Congressionally-approved aid, threatening Ukraine, fawning over Putin and bending over backwards to please him in every conceivable way, blaming Ukraine for being invaded, hurling vicious, absurd insults, blackmail, and torrents of lies at it, twisting its arm to force it into capitulation, humiliating it with his antics, making it a scapegoat for his own failures and incompetence in the eyes of voters, and now openly and definitively entering into direct collusion with the Kremlin and siding with it in exchange for promised corrupt “business opportunities” for himself, his family, and his inner circle -- there are still people who have the nerve search with a magnifying glass for ways in which Zelensky failed to kiss Trump's ass enthusiastically enough to explain why he has been treating Ukraine this way.

And Ukrainians are dying because the elite Elon Musk is responsible for the throttling of Starshield.
Elon Musk wants you to believe Ukrainians are dying because their elites are getting rich.
Here’s another explanation:
Russia invaded their country.
Ukrainians are fighting to keep it.
Who is really getting rich?

Once again, I am personally convinced that the only right way to deal with this administration is a firm, confident, calm, and utterly non-negotiable “no.” And to calmly, methodically call things by their names in public. We call betrayal betrayal, lies lies, and truth truth.
whatever vile, lying curses and threats he wants, foaming at the mouth if he likes. If he thinks it will be easier to bully Ukraine into committing suicide for the sake of his own absurd whims of the moment and his itchy little hands, he is deeply mistaken. All that sickening groveling, crawling on our knees, and kissing his ass only makes him climb onto our heads, try to solve his problems at our expense, and go on pleasing his idol in the Kremlin.
Ukraine has the extraordinary heroism of its soldiers, Europe, basic common sense, and American public opinion on its side. And has no cards in his deranged attempt to collude with the Kremlin.

What do you say to your family when you don’t know if you’ll ever see them again?
In February 2022, he told his wife and children the war had begun. Then he left as Russian forces advanced towards Kyiv, unsure what the coming hours would bring.
This is President Volodymyr tics, he built a successful career in Ukrainian television as a writer, producer and performer, even portraying a president on screen. In 2019, he was elected President of Ukraine. Three years later, Russia launched its full-scale invasion.
Sitting down with him was surreal and an enormous responsibility. It was a rare chance to hear his account of the first hours of the war and the decisions that followed.
We discussed things like:
How he found out Russia had invaded.
Why he refused an offer to evacuate Kyiv.
The 64km Russian military convoy advancing towards the capital.
How Russian forces tried to capture a key airport.
His account of discovering hundreds of bodies after Russian occupation.
What he believes it will take to end the war.
But I also wanted to understand how he’d been coping.
One of my first questions was simply, “How are you doing?” His answer was: “It’s hard.”
He spoke about meeting parents whose children had been killed. Some, he explained, simply ask him for a hug.
And as he spoke, there were tears in his eyes.
Whatever your views on the war or the decisions made by those involved, this is a rare opportunity to hear his account of events that have changed millions of lives.
Because behind every map, every headline and every political decision, there are real people.
Out now on all platforms ❤️👊🏾
(President Zelenskyy was recorded in Ukrainian and dubbed in English.)

Trump has decided to hold me—rather than Putin—responsible for all the problems. He claims to his supporters that diesel prices in America are rising because of us, — Zelenskyy.
I find it wrong and unacceptable that Trump blames me for Russian aggression and the crimes committed ting the context, and that is unfair. In my view, this is merely an attempt to divert attention from the situation in Iran and events in the Middle East. The Strait of Hormuz is blocked—that is the true core of the problem. Yet, all of this is being pinned on us, and I, as head of state, am being made a target.

This smells like laying the groundwork for “blame Canada.”
Take legitimate disagreements over tariffs, meetings with elected officials and unrelated individual voting cases, bundle them together under “election interference,” and you have a convenient foreign villain if the political results disappoint.
That does not establish a coordinated Canadian operation. It creates a narrative.
Actual unlawful conduct should be investigated on its evidence. Charges are not convictions. Individual wrongdoing does not establish government involvement. And advocating against policies that hurt Canadian workers does not automatically constitute election interference.
Meanwhile, perhaps Washington should revisit the “51st state” rhetoric before lecturing Canadians about respecting sovereignty. You cannot demand complete deference to your political independence while treating your neighbour’s independence as negotiable.
Any offers of American support for Canadian separatists deserve scrutiny too. Any allegations of funding should be tested against evidence. The standard must work in both directions.
Americans decide American elections. Canadians decide Canada’s future.
If American voters dislike the consequences of American policies, that is something their elected officials need to answer for. Canada should not become the scapegoat for decisions made in Washington.
Time to look in the mirror. 🇨🇦🇺🇸

Witkoff called Putin a humanist as he thanked him for Stephen Hubbard’s release. Russian troops seized the elderly American in Izium, and former fellow prisoners reported that he had been beaten, tortured with electric shocks, burned and attacked by dogs. This is a punitive rsed by Putin, who is himself a product of that system.
Let us recall some examples of the “humanism” displayed by Putin and the system he created.
Wars. Chechnya, Georgia, Syria, Ukraine—a succession of military campaigns involving mass civilian casualties. In Novye Aldi in Chechnya, Russian forces executed at least 60 people. In Georgia, the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) established Russia’s responsibility for killings, torture and the burning of homes. In Syria, human rights organisations documented unlawful strikes by Russian and Syrian forces on hospitals, schools and markets.
His personal decision to invade Ukraine. On 24 February 2022, Putin himself announced the start of the full-scale war. As early as 2014, he publicly spoke of using civilians to shield Russian troops: standing “behind them, not in front, but behind” and challenging Ukrainian soldiers to “try shooting at women and children.”
Killings of civilians and the destruction of shelters and hospitals. Bucha, with its extrajudicial executions; the Mariupol Drama Theatre, marked with the word “CHILDREN”; and the missile strike on Okhmatdyt Children’s Hospital are specific instances of violence committed by the army Putin sent into Ukraine. They have been documented by the UN and international human rights organisations.
The deportation of children. The International Criminal Court (ICC) issued an arrest warrant for Putin over his suspected personal responsibility for the unlawful deportation and transfer of Ukrainian children. The UN Commission of Inquiry classified these practices as crimes against humanity.
Torture and the hunting of human beings. The UN Commission of Inquiry found that the Russian authorities’ systematic use of torture constituted a crime against humanity. It reached the same conclusion regarding systematic drone attacks on civilians in the Kherson region.
Depriving millions of the basic necessities of life. Strikes on energy infrastructure left Ukrainians without electricity, heating and water, and threatened the operation of hospitals. In connection with this campaign, the ICC issued arrest warrants for Shoigu and Gerasimov, including for suspected attacks on civilian objects.
MH17 and the concealment of responsibility. All 298 people aboard the passenger aircraft were killed when it was shot down. The ECtHR established Russia’s responsibility for the disaster and for violations of the rights of the victims’ relatives.
Poisonings abroad. A British inquiry found that Putin had probably approved Litvinenko’s murder with polonium. Another inquiry concluded that he had authorised the assassination attempt on Skripal. Novichok left behind by the perpetrators killed a member of the public—Dawn Sturgess.
The persecution of Navalny. After being poisoned with Novichok, the opposition politician was imprisoned; he died in a penal colony. In 2026, five European countries reported detecting epibatidine in samples taken from him and held the Russian state responsible for his poisoning.
Impunity for those who ordered political killings. Nemtsov was shot dead near the Kremlin. Politkovskaya was murdered on Putin’s birthday after investigating crimes in Chechnya.
Personal support for a state assassin. A German court established that Krasikov had killed Khangoshvili in Berlin on orders from Russian state agencies. Following a prisoner exchange, Putin personally met the convicted murderer at the airport and embraced him.
“Kursk”: 118 dead and “It sank.” In the first days of the disaster, Putin remained on holiday while Moscow delayed accepting foreign assistance. All 118 sailors died. Later, when Larry King asked what had happened to the submarine, Putin replied: “It sank.” His initial response to a question about the deaths of an entire crew took just two words.
“Nord-Ost” and Beslan: contempt for hostages’ lives. In the Nord-Ost case, the ECtHR found that the rescue operation following the use of gas had been inadequately organised. In Beslan, the authorities failed to take appropriate measures despite having information about the threat of an attack. During the operation, security forces used tank guns, grenade launchers and flamethrowers—the court found that this had contributed to the hostages’ deaths.
Children as hostages to political revenge. In retaliation for the US Magnitsky Act, Putin signed a law banning US citizens from adopting Russian children. Even nearly completed adoptions were halted, including those involving children with serious illnesses. The ECtHR found the ban discriminatory and disproportionate. The Kremlin demonstrated its power to Washington at the expense of children who could have found families.
The 1999 apartment bombings: questions the Kremlin cannot brush aside. Hundreds dead, another war in Chechnya and the rapid consolidation of Putin’s power. Litvinenko, Felshtinsky and Satter accused the FSB of organising the bombings. In Ryazan, the FSB later claimed that a device initially regarded as a bomb in an apartment building was part of a “training exercise with sugar.”
Torture, coerced confessions and years of imprisonment—this is how Putin’s government punishes disobedience. Ukrainians, Crimean Tatars and Russian opposition figures have received prison sentences of 10, 20 and 25 years in politically motivated cases.
By calling Putin a humanist, Witkoff grants moral absolution to a ruler who starts wars, presides over a state that practises systematic torture, and personally welcomes a convicted murderer.
