David Murray paid players off the books in the EBT scandal that resulted in Rangers liquidation, demotion to the Scottish 3rd Division and more importantly, a legal case from HMRC due to the deliberate attempt to conceal earnings, surely this is no different? I would also imagine every club in The City Football Group are going to be extremely nervous right now, if the City owners get banned from football, what happens to them?

Just a quick two cents.
Regardless of what happens in what's left of the window
It's really important that fans get behind the manager and the team. Don't let it get toxic.
Help Iraola to make the most of whatever hand he is dealt.

It’s very hard for me to form an opinion on this matter.
We are being given the information that 30% of the club was sold to a consortium but we don’t know what’s happening behind the scenes and what is the plan going forward.
It would be very immature to form an opinion based on a fraction of information. All we know is that the management of the club is not changing at the moment but we don’t know the future.
I can’t say if it’s good or bad. We will see in the future what happens but FSG saved the club from administration, that’s for sure. This could be another step forward to even more stability or it could create more mess.
I would, as a supporter, sit tight at this moment and wait how things unfold.

Following the announcement of a minority investment in LFC, we want to hear what supporters think.
Are you in favour? What could it mean for LFC and supporters? What questions do you want us to put to the club, FSG and new investors?
Have your say👇

Fox paid $485 million for the rights to broadcast this World Cup. The New York Times put the fair market value at $1 to $1.5 billion. The hydration break is how Fox gets its money's worth.
FIFA announced mandatory 3-minute pauses midway through each half of all 104 World Cup 2026 matches, not just hot ones. That includes games inside climate-controlled domed stadiums with roofs. The announcement came at a World Broadcaster Meeting in Washington DC. FIFA said the decision was made after consultation with coaches and broadcasters.
A few months later, FIFA gave broadcasters the green light to sell ads during the pauses. Fox gets 2 minutes and 10 seconds per break, starting 20 seconds after the whistle and ending 30 seconds before play resumes. Across all 104 games, that's 832 potential ad slots that didn't exist in soccer before this tournament. Fox and Telemundo project a combined $850 million in ad revenue from the 2026 World Cup.
The player welfare argument is also real. Argentina's Enzo Fernandez said he felt "dizzy" in "very dangerous" temperatures during last summer's Club World Cup in the US, where some games approached 100 degrees Fahrenheit. FIFA had reason to act. But it applied those breaks to every match regardless of conditions, and opened a commercial window that makes this World Cup more ad-friendly than any before it.
Fox proved the point on day one. In the opener between Mexico and South Africa, Fox missed the 30-second return window FIFA mandated. The ball was already in play when the network came back from commercials.
Coca-Cola, a top-tier global FIFA partner for decades, runs the hydration stations on the field. That same 3-minute pause serves three commercial interests at once: the field sponsor, Fox's ad revenue, and Fox's streaming subscribers.
The 2030 World Cup goes to Spain, Portugal, and Morocco. The 2034 tournament lands in Saudi Arabia. Both regions see extreme summer heat. FIFA has not confirmed whether the pauses will outlast this summer's tournament. But $850 million in new advertising inventory tends to answer that question on its own.

The FIFA hydration break is pure capitalism.

As frustrated as I’ve been with some decisions and regardless of the concerns I’ve had around his ability to turns things around, it’s never nice when a manager loses his job.
Extremely grateful for number 20 and how he handled Diogo’s passing. Wish him all the best.

Liverpool FC can confirm Arne Slot is to depart his role as head coach with immediate effect and that the process to appoint a successor is under way.
He leaves with a Premier League title to his name and our deepest gratitude and appreciation.

I think/hope history will remember Arne Slot kindly. Ultimately think a clean slate this summer is the right call for both parties but the scale of his achievement last season - and of the dignified manner in which he led the club last summer - should never be understated.

Aged 34 years and 320 days, Virgil van Dijk is the second-oldest outfield player in Liverpool's history to play 100% of possible minutes in a league season, behind only Tommy Lucas in 1930-31 (35y 224d). #LFC

Mo Salah is the best player I’ve seen play for Liverpool. He is and always will be a legend of the club and much of what he has said - in terms of this season not being good enough - is absolutely right. That doesn’t necessarily mean he has gone about things in the right way.

The part people will immediately jump to is, ‘so you’re disrespecting Klopp?’
No. It’s about applying the same principles of fairness consistently.
I understood what Klopp had to deal with then, and I understand what Slot has to deal with now. Klopp was not blameless then, and Slot is not blameless now.
But what is fair is applying the same level of context, balance and understanding to both situations. What isn’t fair is twisting circumstances into engagement bait, revenue farming or an unrewarding venting of spleen. That kind of toxicity has no value.
Accepting a situation for what it is and assessing it fairly is not ‘being okay with mediocrity’. It is called being a compassionate and understanding human being.
And honestly, if people cannot extend that basic level of understanding towards the club or supporters, do not sing ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ or put ‘YNWA’ in your bio. Because you do not understand what it actually means.

The toxicity this season is a joke. I’m seeing people I respect lose their heads because Slot isn't Klopp. We need a collective reset, and the end of the season can not come quickly enough
Liverpool fan media want standards? Let’s talk about the standard of consistency in your own arguments.
Because this season, you cannot convince me that the only reason everyone is up in arms is that you never really liked Arne Slot in the first place, and agitation only increased once Xabi Alonso lost his job at Real Madrid and Mohammed Salah started throwing a hissy fit because his power is waning.
So let's get into it.🧵

Yet more corruption exposed.
In 2024 98%, yes 98% of all serious water company pollution incidents got downgrade by the Environment Agency to minor.
Time to end the charade, to call an end to the farce. Time for public ownership.

While I appreciate the frustration of going from a team that won the league to one battling the top 4, I cannot get on board with the constant stream of negativity I see here every day from big Liverpool accounts.
A football team that has won 24 games across all comps, right in still in the UCL, and into the FA Cup QF is hardly one doing as badly as some suggest here.
With so much to play for this season, apologies if I'm not wallowing in self-pity over our position.
We all agreed it was going to be a tough season, given the transition and tragedy. Big voices on here have failed to keep their end of the bargain and frame everything, literally everything (even a 5-2 win), as a cause for pessimism.
Cheer up, man.
