Round outerwear I've been thinking about:
— Monitaly AW19 tanker (wish I bought this when I had the chance)
— Raf Simons AW04 Waves bomber
— Helmut Lang AW99 M69 jacket (more jackets w/ backpack straps please 🙏)
— 1980s RL Polo Country suede blouson (IG permanentstylelondon)

I looked them up and they appear to be at the Pima Animal Care Center (PACC) in Tucson, Arizona. If you adopt both of these dogs together — or any animal from this center — I will pay for a month's worth of pet food and help you find a good pair of pants.

Saw something very cute at the shelter today

This pair appears to have been adopted but this former employee says that the shelter is at over capacity. My offer still stands: if you adopt any animal from this shelter, I will pay for a month's worth of pet food and help you find a good pair of pants.

Handful of people are seeing this so let me just say: don't stop considering adopting/fostering just bc these guys have a home! There are currently ~475 dogs in shelter while, we have a comfortable max capacity of ~350. There are SO many wonderful dogs that need homes ASAP

This Issey Miyake trench coat is so great. Their designs aren't exactly the same, but Ten C makes outerwear for men using stiff materials, which creates a similar sculptural feel. This is particularly noticeable on the hood of their parkas.

Some other great Miyake stuff. The first photo is from a 2016 exhibit (I think in Tokyo?), the second and third photos are from The New World Order (a Brooklyn vintage shop that sadly closed), and the video is from a 2023 collection.

Very handsome Patek 3417 available at Hairspring. This 1950s steel model was originally developed for X-ray technicians, atomic physicists, and engineers (nerds), so it has iron cover to resist magnetic fields. Technically a tool watch! The sister 3418 model is more affordable.

This Buck Mason jacket retails for $398.
How much do you think something like this cost in the 1950s?

So yes, this $398 Buck Mason jacket is a bit more than the $275 someone would have paid back in the day at Duxbak (in equivalent dollars). But the increase is not as large as some may have assumed. It's also the price one needs to pay for such detailing.

Apologies. I meant to credit this Etsy seller (IronCharlie), which is where I pulled these photos from. The price is astronomical bc this specific version is a collector's item now for vintage enthusiasts.

I note this because materials, labor, and time add a lot to manufacturing cost. The more details you add to a garment, the more it have to cost on the final retail side.
These details also give us a clue on what inspired this jacket: Duxbak.
