When your own people are being killed, raped, and kidnapped by armed militias and guerrilla groups that are openly backed, armed, and trained by Algeria, Gaddafi’s Libya, Cuba, Angola, and other communist regimes and allies throughout the 1980s, then come back and lecture me.

Those groups were not “freedom fighters” in some abstract sense they were launching attacks across the territory, targeting Moroccan civilians and soldiers. Morocco built the sand wall (the berm) as a defensive measure to stop those raids, protect its people, and secure the land after years of cross-border violence.

If the same thing happened to your country and your people, what would you do instead of repeating the ideological propaganda that turns the aggressors into the victims?

That’s the actual historical context.
Below is the ‘Wall of Shame’, built by Morocco’s armed forces in the 1980s to protect its military occupation of #WesternSahara: a sand wall spanning 2,700km strewn with rocks, trenches, barbed wire, and millions of land mines. It’s the real face of Morocco.

Fireworks rose over Unity Square, painting the Atlantic night in gold, crimson, and emerald a luminous hymn to Morocco’s first Day of Unity.

🚨🇺🇲Midnight in New York: #MINURSO is finished.

35 years, over $1.7 billion wasted, zero results. A failed promises that never happened, used only to freeze a fake status quo.

Morocco is on its own land and will remain there forever. The only realistic solution is the Autonomy ereignty. While others talk, Morocco builds: ports, roads, schools, hospitals and jobs for its people in the southern provinces. 🇲🇦

🇲🇦🇺🇲Thank you, Ambassador and to the Trump administration, for the courage and leadership to end this Cold War relic that has poisoned the region with instability and suffering for too long.

The Autonomy Plan under Moroccan sovereignty is the only realistic and credible solution. It upholds Morocco’s territorial integrity, ends the inhumane situation in the Tindouf camps, and opens the door to peace and prosperity for the whole region.

Morocco stands with you. Let’s finish this.

The United States offered a historic path to peace in Western Sahara. It would have ended what the UN calls a “genuinely, truly inhumane” situation for the Sahrawi refugees in the Tindouf camps and advanced the political process. Eleven members of the UN Security Council agreed. s an urgently needed solution will not only bring peace to the region but prosperity and greater integration for all of Africa. This dispute must end now, and the United States will continue to drive progress toward that end.

🚨 THE 15-YEAR DREAM CRUISE THAT SANK: They sold everything to live at sea, only to be stranded in Cambodia by the Iran war.

On October 27, the Villa Vie Odyssey a residential cruise promising "perpetual living at sea" abruptly suspended operations. 203 residents were given just ags and disembark in Sihanoukville.

Here is the full, heartbreaking breakdown of how a $1M dream turned into a logistical nightmare:

💰 THE COST OF PARADISE:
Passengers didn't just buy tickets; they bought into a lifestyle.
• Cabin Ownership: Ranged from $120,000 to $440,000 (with premium suites reportedly up to $899,000) for a 15-year residency.
• Monthly Fees: An additional $2,000 to $10,000 per month for meals, Wi-Fi, housekeeping, and basic services.
• Real Cases:*California retiree Carol Larson paid $120,000* just for her cabin. American couple Randy and Kit Cassingham revealed they spent nearly $1 million in total, expecting to live aboard for at least 15 years.

📉 WHY IT COLLAPSED:
The company claims the U.S.-Iran conflict and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz caused fuel costs to skyrocket.
• Monthly fuel costs per cabin in Asian waters exploded from $1,800 to $6,000–$8,000 (a staggering +344% increase).
• The business model became mathematically impossible. Slowing the ship and extending port stays wasn't enough to stop the bleeding.

🛳️ THE CHAOTIC FINAL HOURS:
• Overnight Eviction: On the morning of Oct 27, residents received a notice via the ship's internal system: everyone must be off the ship by 2:00 PM that same day.
• Zero Support: Passenger Randy Cassingham said the company "did nothing to help." They were shuttled to the city center and left to fend for themselves—not even a list of local hotels was provided.
• The Fallout: 203 passengers and 156 crew members were displaced. Many had sold their homes and earthly possessions to board this ship. Now, they are temporarily homeless, thousands of miles from home.

The company is currently seeking bankruptcy protection and has a 60-day window to find new funding, but for the residents, the voyage is over. A brutal reminder that even the most expensive "forever" dreams can sink overnight. 🌍

The End ...
🚨🇲🇦Historic development: Morocco’s Royal Cabinet announced that the UN Security Council, in its meeting today (30 October 2026), did not renew the mandate of the MINURSO mission. Rabat describes this as a major step toward the definitive closure of the Moroccan United Nations. @USAmbUN @USUN @FranceUN @UKUN_NewYork

The decision coincides with “Unity Day,” established by King Mohammed VI to mark a clear break with the previous approach of mere management of the file and a shift toward deep transformation of its parameters. Non-renewal means the presence of MINURSO in the Kingdom’s southern provinces its personnel, vehicles, equipment and symbols should end in the coming days. A page that lasted 35 years has now been turned. The mission, inherited from an outdated context, long served as an instrument for internationalizing what Morocco regards as a regional dispute linked to the legitimate recovery of its Saharan provinces.

According to the communiqué, the non-extension should also put an end to the referral of this file to the Security Council and lead to its removal from the Council’s agenda. There will no longer be justification for the regular periodic meetings dedicated to the Moroccan Sahara, for the related reports of the UN Secretary-General, or for briefings by the Personal Envoy. The UN political process which Morocco says was marked by delays and an insistence by other parties on maintaining the status quo is thereby suspended. Similar steps are expected shortly in other UN bodies.

Morocco expressed its satisfaction with this development while reaffirming its strong commitment to the ceasefire, full respect for the integrity and unity of its territory, national security, and the tranquility of its citizens. At the same time, the international dynamic launched by King Mohammed VI will continue at the bilateral and regional levels. This momentum has already mobilized substantial support: more than two-thirds of UN member states, including permanent members of the Security Council and influential powers, clearly back the Autonomy Initiative under Moroccan sovereignty as the sole framework for resolving this regional dispute.
