If elected judge to the International Court of Justice, I will:

• Hear every state fairly.
• Examine every argument rigorously.
• Apply the law independently.

The @CIJ_ICJ election at the @UN takes place next week, it would be an honour to have your support.

26 years ago, @UN Security Council resolution 1325 made clear: women’s participation is central to lasting peace.

The UK remains steadfast in our commitment.

We must defend the progress made and confront the challenges that remain.
26 years after Resolution 1325, the UK remains committed to the Women, Peace and Security agenda:

🌍 Supporting survivors of violence
⚖️ Backing women peacebuilders
📱Tackling online abuse

And making sure women are at the heart of peacemaking processes to secure lasting peace.

Nearly 700 women and girls were raped in Haiti in July and August alone.

This is shocking and unacceptable.

The renewal of the mandate of the Gang Suppression Force and UN Sanctions Regime are essential to restoring stability in Haiti.

Russia has intensified its strikes on Ukrainian energy infrastructure over the weekend. This is an attack on Ukrainian civilians, plunging them into cold and darkness. The UK strongly supports President Trump's call today for a sustained energy ceasefire to start now. I discussed this with @zelenskyyUa yesterday: Ukraine is ready if Russia stops its attacks. This is the best route to get energy and fuel back into world markets.

Girls must be free to make informed choices about their own bodies - without coercion, discrimination or violence.

UK support for @UNFPA is helping millions more women and girls gain autonomy and access to care across 54 countries, including in conflict zones. #DayOfTheGirl
Thérèse left school at 14 to support her family. Before 18, she had experienced two pregnancies.

@UNFPA care provided her choice over her future.

The UK is a proud UNFPA partner. Last month, we pledged $270m to help over 15 million women and girls each year across 54 countries.

Great to meet Archbishop of Canterbury @ArchbishopSarah and to support her work on protecting healthcare workers in conflict.

As Foreign Secretary @Ed_Miliband said at @UN High-Level Week, the UK is resolute in seeking to protect those who risk their lives to help others.

For the first time, all @UN Member States have agreed on a practical, science-based framework to respond to sea level rise.

The UK worked closely with Small Island Developing States and 🇦🇺 and 🇨🇻 to secure this landmark declaration.
