BeOS support in Infinite Mac is officially released. If you're curious what the OS that Apple almost bought in 1996 was like (spoiler: very fast, very advanced tech, very immature), you can now experience it in your browser.

Patrick Stewart played characters that are a beloved part of my childhood. Skill in acting draws fame, that is usually disproportionate to their own personal characters. He seems to be an exception to that rule. youtube.com/watch?v=Xi_27b…

An example of agents improving the state of software: WIF has been around for ages, but OAuth token exchange is such a pain that it was limited to uncommon enterprise settings. Now we have agents to toil for us, we can all easily use these better modes of secret management.

Sure, touch screens are useless on laptops and a weird thing to ship. But OLED and dropping half a pound off the weights is excellent.

Big thanks to @sentry for hosting the @exedev meetup last night. We are planning to make it a monthly event, so stay tuned for future details.

Some great content about humans and agents from @josh_wills that definitely won’t be repeated online.

I’ve taken to making little apps for my kids and hosting them at kids.samwho.dev. They love it. They’re all PWAs so they can look like apps on your home screen if you want. My eldest has loved self-scan at Tesco recently so I made a lil’ barcode scanner app for him 😁

Truly amazed how useful GLM is for anything network/ops/security. It is clearly behind the frontier models in sophistication, but By George it has gumption. A willingness to try goes far.

Torn because the Duo is so close to the phone I want: a small miserable outer phone to discourage me from looking at it most of the time, and a tablet for work. But I know the first version is not going to be great, and the closed width seems off to me.

Passkeys didn't exist when we created Tailscale, but I couldn't stand the thought of passwords, the original static secret sin. So I went with pure OIDC login. It has its weaknesses, but was the lesser of two evils.

These days, you can do email+passkey auth.

The `ssh exe.dev` DX is brilliant. I've never seen it before. Well done @exedev. Where did this style originate?

It's very easy to get started! Here's a video in which I set up a new orb provider on an @exedev VM using Docker to spawn new machines:

Or spawn up new @exedev machines as orbs, if you want. Here's a short example:
