Amazing chart from Adam Farrar of Bloomberg @economics.
Assuming the Binance hack was done by the North Koreans, as alleged by @trmlabs, then the country just captured 75% of its total 2025 revenue in the span of just 20 minutes

one of the funniest things to me from @AcquiredFM’s Seinfeld episode is that the show succeeded in large part because of its origins in NBC’s interest in Jerry’s stand up, which meant that the show came up through the Late Night department, NOT the Comedy department. And at the time NBC was owned by GE, so the idea of the Comedy department bringing Six Sigma and corporate strategy to all the sitcoms, and then for the one turns-out-it’s-a-sitcom show to be the blockbuster to come in unencumbered by their corporate comedy policies is just so meta and so splendid

Oh wow, so excited for this interview.
I recently got to interview Robert Caro, who is my favorite author of all time.
This gave me the excuse to reread his biographies of Lyndon Johnson and Robert Moses, and to compile my prep notes into this video essay.
These guys pulled off some truly incredible schemes.

I'm starting to sense a divide in the tech industry:
- People thriving on autonomy who are reinventing how they work and what tools they use with AI: LOTS of work, but they're enjoying it and getting very efficient
- People used to being mentored / trained / or simply told what to do and how. Frustrated with the lack of guidance from management on what to do with AI; also frustrated by seeing some of their peers thriving; increasingly bitter about AI and the state of the industry, as a whole
Neither group seems to be aware that there's another group, or have empathy for the other group

Walter Isaacson asks Peter Thiel what humans can uniquely do in the AI era.
Thiel: "We're very relational… these relational dimensions will become more important."
When knowledge is worth $0, the only career skills that matter:
- networking / social calibration
- persuasion rnessing AI)
- taste (curation)
- storytelling
- grit
- golfing with clients (or equivalent)
We'll get so sick of a fake world that we'll go back to doing business like it's the 1800s. A handshake at the local saloon.

Amazing opportunity for anyone interested in the bleeding edge of AI
I’m hiring a Chief of Staff to be my right hand across everything I do at Cosmos.
That starts with Cosmos Institute (@cosmos_inst), the nonprofit I founded after selling two AI companies, having two kids, and thinking hard about the good life and the good society. Through the Institute, we do research internally and with fellows from @GoogleDeepMind, @AnthropicAI, @OpenAI, @Microsoft, and academia, have given out 200+ grants to build fast prototypes, and we’re launching a big new in-person bet for higher education in 2027. This side of my work also includes @UniofOxford, where I co-teach a graduate seminar on philosophy and AI and support the Human-Centered AI Lab (HAI Lab), as well as a book I’m writing on human autonomy in the age of AI.
On the venture side, you’ll work with me across Cosmos Ventures (@cosmos_vc), our new $77.6M fund backing founders building new institutions for the AI age. Our early portfolio includes companies like AIUC (@aiunderwriting), @PrimeIntellect, and Workshop Labs (acq. by @thinkymachines), with several more to be announced soon. We’re also going to be incubating new companies in 2027.
You’ll come in, do this well for two years, and if you want to build a thesis-aligned company or a nonprofit next, we will back you, or place you at a top company in our community. The role is based in Austin, with relocation provided.
To apply, read our essays and tell us where we’re wrong: docs.google.com/document/d/18_…

I met with a founder and shared some product ideas to make his demo better. He sent a loom with all of it implemented an hour later.
Meanwhile my buddy messaged me his new physical product is getting 3D printed overnight.

Regardless of where you stand on this election, it’s moving to see @gadi_eisenkot accompany former hostage Gadi Moses to his polling place to vote…in Kibbutz Nir Oz. On October 7th, 2023, one in four residents of Nir Oz were killed or taken hostage. After being massacred, Israelis rebuild their communities to flourish. One of many signs of Israel’s promise: the ballot box.

It’s hard to predict the Internet.
It’s hard to know where Stablecoins will go.
It’s a hell of a lot of fun to work on both.
Thanks to @eastdakota for making time for us and to @arfrank @ay_o for bringing us all together.

“AI is going to take the old business models of ads and subscriptions and just annihilate them. Something will replace it, and I think there’s a good likelihood it’s going to be built on stablecoins.” - @eastdakota
Was incredibly prescient of Matthew Prince (@Cloudflare) with t @averystableconf in March of this year. Can't wait to tell you what @ay_o @kerrykellogg and I are working on for next year!

To everyone who said tech is done, SF is dead, Silicon Valley can't produce any more massive outcomes, the venture world can't fund real breakthroughs, and on and on and on
Go read Anthropic's filing. What a triumph for an ecosystem written off as "dead" only a few years ago 🚀

$BX Blackstone Co-Founder Stephen Schwarzman on Bloomberg: "Last year, 2025, we built the same number of houses in the United States as we did in 1960. Is that even vaguely possible that the country's population has over doubled and we're still building the same number of houses and people are surprised that the price of houses has gone up? So the solution for this is basically build more stuff. It couldn't be simpler.""
