What a way to end the MRS 20th biennial congress by @MetastasisRS. Great talks by the ECRs, with exciting findings and tools! Nice icing on the cake with the fire alarm at the end to make it the most memorable one 😂 #MRS2024
The mission of the MRS Early Career Leadership Council (ECLC) is to support ECRs to establish successful careers in #metastasis research. Here are our wonderful ECRs at the dedicated ECR workshop as part of the MRS 20th biennial congress in London metastasis-research.org/for-researcher… #MRS2024

Erica @CNI_lab from @MIPS_Australia, delivering a brilliant talk highlighting why we should care about the neural network in the body when treating metastasis #MRS2024
Rounding out the afternoon session is Erica Sloan @CNI_lab, from @MIPS_DDB. We’re all ‘fired up’ for a ‘stimulating’ talk on the importance of the nervous system in cancer and metastasis 🧠 #MRS2024 #metastasis

An amazing @OzMRS1 symposium! Get the chance to convince researchers and consumer advocates that the nervous tumor environment can no longer be ignored. Great opportunity to connect with brilliant national and international researchers that work to fight #metastasis
Today I got to present some of my #phd work at the @OzMRS1 symposium. Such a cool event. It’s really awesome to see consumers be involved in the #cancerresearch experience. Also, big shout out to @aesonchang for his Best ECR Talk award. @CNI_lab @MIPS_Australia #sympatheticnerves

Scientists at University of Western Australia set new record for deepest fish ever filmed at a depth of 8,336 meters.
During an expedition that took place in August 2022, the research vessel DSSV Pressure Drop embarked on a two-month journey to investigate trenches in the n. The primary objective of the expedition was to examine the populations of deep-sea fish. While conducting filming activities, the research team unexpectedly encountered a previously unknown species of snailfish at an astounding depth of 8,336 meters, equivalent to over 27,000 feet, specifically in the Izu-Ogasawara Trench.
At a depth of 8,022 meters, scientists successfully obtained two fish from traps. This achievement is noteworthy because it includes the capture of a snailfish species known as Pseudoliparis belyaevi. Notably, this is the first time a fish has been collected from depths exceeding 8,000 meters, as these snailfish were previously observed solely at a shallower depth of 7,703 meters.
