A wonderfully encouraging sermon on Romans 8:34, highlighting Christ’s perinatal office and work (earthly and heavenly) as the one Mediator between God and man. I encourage you to listen to this!
We continue in our study of the book of Romans with a sermon by Dr. Joseph A. Pipa, Jr. on Romans 8:34, "The Completed Work of the Lord Christ." sermonaudio.com/sermons/112263…

With the US Presbytery of the Free Church of Scotland - Continuing meeting this week at Nobleford Presbyterian Church, I have decided to make available the free PDF of the 2026 reprint of Witherspoon's "Ecclesiastical Characteristics". Witherspoon, a founding father of the nation, lampoons the Moderate Party of the Church of Scotland with biting and memorable satire.
You can also purchase the paperback from Berith Press (link on the page). As a bonus, it helps support the work of Joseph Weissman and Jami Weissman. Thankful they allowed this lightly modernized version to be freely given.
Please purchase many other edifying books at their site as a reward for their generosity.

Between the people’s promise to obey (chs. 19-24) and their failure to perform (chs. 32-34) is the gracious provision of plan for an arena for atonement, forgiveness, and communion with our holy, merciful God (chs. 25-31).

Mission-critical.
Faithful stewardship.
Ministry-forward.
That's what this project is to me and the other folks at Old Antioch. Simply put, we are on the verge of completely maxing out our current facility and parking area. So, we press on. Can you help?
Lord willing, we will soon be able safely to accommodate forty more vehicles at a time on our property. I also can't help but smile when I think about how Antioch's covenant children will get a blacktop to enjoy when the lot isn't full during the week. I'm still a city kid at heart.
As October nears a close, we are about 2% of the way to our funding goal of $90,000. With gratitude to God and to those who have contributed already, we put this need before you with a warm invitation to help us to cover the cost of this significant project.

From the White House on the occasion of Reformation Day:
From the earliest days of our Republic, prayer and faith in Almighty God have stood as the foundation of our strength, the source of our unity, and the fount of our greatness. This Reformation Day, I send my best wishes to the countless Christians across our country commemorating the Protestant Reformation and its enduring message of salvation by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
Five hundred years ago, William Tyndale—inspired by the work of Martin Luther—advanced the Protestant Reformation’s devotion to Holy Scripture through the publication of the first New Testament printed in English, shaping the language of the Bibles that would fortify the faith and resolve of America’s founding generation. The Sacred Scriptures helped form the religious convictions that formed our young Nation’s founding ideals of God-given rights and individual liberty, a spiritual inheritance we honor as we continue to reflect on 250 glorious years of American Independence. The Bible remains a cornerstone of our Nation’s character and upholds our steadfast devotion to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
Guided by an unwavering faith in Jesus Christ, my Administration is working to restore the moral and religious foundations that have sustained our Republic for generations. As President, I will always support citizens of faith and defend their place in the public square, honoring the enduring role of our churches in strengthening families, serving communities, and preserving the core values that have anchored us across the centuries.
As Christians across our country unite in faith and fellowship this Reformation Day, I send my heartfelt prayers for a meaningful celebration and encourage each of you to draw renewed strength from God’s Word as we carry forward the blessings of faith and freedom throughout our beloved Nation.

On his deathbed at age 52, Matthew Henry, whose commentary on the whole Bible is still widely used almost 300 years later, said to a friend,
“You have been used to take notice of the sayings of dying men—this is mine: that a life spent in the service of God and communion with Him, is the most pleasant life that anyone can live in this world”.
You can have all this world but give me Jesus.

You can weep over your sin and still love it.
You can fear its consequences while secretly longing to commit it again.
You can confess it with your lips while keeping it enthroned in your heart.
In his 1668 book The Doctrine of Repentance, the Puritan Thomas Watson l ingredients of true repentance:
1. SIGHT OF SIN: You must see your own wickedness, not merely the sins of others. You must recognize what you are before a holy God.
2. SORROW FOR SIN: You must grieve not merely because your sin has brought you suffering, but because you have offended the God who made you.
3. CONFESSION OF SIN: You must stop excusing, minimizing, and concealing your transgressions. You must accuse yourself and acknowledge your guilt before God.
4. SHAME FOR SIN: You must learn to blush at what you once boasted of. What once delighted your corrupt heart must now humble you.
5. HATRED OF SIN: You must hate what you once loved. Not merely because sin threatens your happiness, reputation, or eternal safety, but because it is hateful to God.
6. TURNING FROM SIN: You must forsake your wicked ways and turn to God with your whole heart. You cannot claim to have abandoned sin while secretly reserving a place for its return.
You have not truly repented merely because you regret what sin has cost you.
The question is whether you now hate the sin you once cherished, and whether your heart and life are being turned toward God.
Repentance is not merely sorrow over sin.
It is a Spirit-wrought change of heart that produces a change of life.

Thank you, @prpbooks for the review copy of @jonathanlcruse's new children's book, "The Upside-Down Inside-Out Can't-Believe-It Kingdom." The story itself presents a basic gospel presentation highlighting the heavenly wisdom of the Kingdom of God. I especially appreciated the eary readers (or hearers) to come to Christ for spiritual life.
The writing is easy to read (or for our little ones, listen to) and understand, and the artwork is excellent. The only issue I have is that we CAN—even, MUST—believe it, but only by the Spirit's power!
As a father of six (and a pastor of a church of 50% small children), I heartily recommend this book to you!

The video got a little washed out upon upload, but you get the idea... we need more parking, and the Lord will provide!
Take a walk with me to check it out.

Take a walk on our new (future) parking lot at Antioch. Pastor Groff first lays out the opportunity this lot is meeting. Then, he addresses the long-term purpose of this project as it fits into our vision for church-planting and ministry vitality in Spartanburg County.
