We’re excited to partner with BitRobot Network, Lightwheel AI, Singapore Institute of Technology and contributors like Jie Tan (Deepmind), Steve Xie (Lightwheel), Michael Cho (FrodoBots), etc.
Looking forward to push the boundary of humanoid loco-manipulation in this Humanoid IKEA Assembly Challenge!

Can humanoids assemble IKEA furniture?
We’re inviting researchers to test their policies at the Humanoid IKEA Assembly Challenge at @ieeeras IROS 2026.
Co-organized with @UnitreeRobotics, @LightwheelAI, @singaporetech, and more. We’re providing all the resources, more info ↓

@UnitreeRobotics Oh I think IKEA will be really one of the first ones who will use robots in their stores.

@UnitreeRobotics this was just plain cool to watch.
Seeing a humanoid robot interact with the physical world and work through a task that most of us take for granted is a powerful reminder of how far robotics and AI have come.
Congratulations to all the teams, researchers, and partners involved. The innovation, collaboration, and engineering behind this challenge is impressive, and I can't wait to see what's next. 🤖✨

@UnitreeRoboticsthe kind of challenge that moves an industry forward.
Humanoid robots assembling IKEA furniture may sound simple on the surface, but it requires perception, reasoning, manipulation, coordination, adaptability, and real-world problem-solving all working together.
It's exciting to see leading organizations, researchers, and innovators collaborating to push the boundaries of what's possible in humanoid robotics.
Congratulations to everyone involved. Looking forward to seeing the breakthroughs that emerge from this challenge.

@UnitreeRoboticsuild LEGO structures using the printed instructions that come with a set.
Also, assembling an electronics kit, say on old fashioned vacuum tube amplifier, requiring positioning resitors, capacitors, et cetera along with the vacuum tubes, cutting and stripping the wires, soldering, etc.

@UnitreeRobotics open data + sim partnerships are the real unlock here. good to see it go collaborative instead of walled.

@UnitreeRobotics None has the money for a robot to put legs on a plastic chair
Humanoid robots arent feezable curently, make robots that cut grass trim hedges and tim low to medium high tree limbs heck even market them to be able to split/rank fire wood
I own share in coinbase lets grow ill help

@UnitreeRobotics Oh my, this would be a fun ego capture dataset.
Would love to get a dataset together and see if we can have a humanoid put one together faster and better.
Happy to support here

@UnitreeRobotics this is a better robotics eval than another clean walking clip. parts shift, contact lies, and recovery becomes the task.
