Robotic Origami Challenge results are out!
We've asked 14 teams to get a robot to fold a paper airplane.

None completed the full task.

Best score: 50/100. Only one team made it to the third fold. 🧵
The first ever Origami Challenge with @SharpaRobotics at @ieeeiros IROS 2026 concluded.

We asked teams to fold a paper airplane to test policies in dexterous manipulation.

14 global teams made it to the final round. Here are the results ↓

IKEA Challenge results are out! Getting a humanoid to screw in a table leg is still a serious challenge.

At our first Humanoid IKEA Assembly Challenge at IROS, 7 of 9 teams scored points. No team finished assembling the UTTER children’s table. 🧵
The first Humanoid IKEA Assembly Challenge, co-organized with @UnitreeRobotics, @LightwheelAI and @singaporetech, took place at @ieeeiros.

9 global teams tested their loco-manipulation policies to assemble an IKEA UTTER children’s table. Full results ↓

Amazing work by @sanatem and @BitRobotNetwork! Looking forward to many more exciting venues where we can have a bit more time to ramp into sim2real submissions!! 🤠

The winning team Dum-E needed help on the first fold, then cleared the next two without intervention.

Will we see a complete airplane folded without human intervention in the next edition?

Congrats to DUM-E (@aakash_hash) on 1st place with 50/100 🦾 - 3 Folds

AxisTilted2 (@sanpskala) took 2nd and TriDex 3rd, both with 30/100. - 2 Folds.

Thanks to all teams for taking this on with us! Still plenty to work on before we get a complete airplane reliably, without intervention.

Results are out for the Earth Rover Challenge at IROS!

Congrats to ManseRobot on the big win 🦾 And thank you to all 12 teams for joining us and putting your policies to the test!
The Earth Rover Challenge at @ieeeiros IROS 2026 is a wrap.

12 teams from all over the world, 4 tracks, 3 days, and one question: can an AI policy drive a sidewalk rover the way a human can?

We heard directly from participants and posted the full leaderboard below ↓

And that’s a wrap for #IROS2026!

Seeing what physical AI can actually do in 2026 is why I love co-organizing these competitions. You get to see how far teams from top companies and universities are getting when everything has to work right there in front of you.

The Humanoid IKEA Assembly challenge has begun. We are getting so many good submissions. Hope to see a new benchmark!
1/ Nobody has benchmarked a humanoid on autonomous IKEA furniture assembly before.

Today at @ieeeiros 2026, the first attempts begin.

It’s a test of autonomous loco-manipulation: long-horizon sequencing, precise coordination, contact, force, recovery, and movement ↓

Been a lot of work getting this one together with the team. Can’t wait to see how far the finalist AI models get 🦾

Come catch the marathon finals next week at IROS 2026!
Nobody has driven a mini rover from UC Berkeley to Stanford on its own.

Humans have done it by remote control, navigating 50 miles in 29 hours and 38 minutes.

That's the benchmark to beat at the Earth Rover Challenge co-organized by @BitRobotNetwork at @ieeeiros IROS 2026 ↓
