El Niño is back – and it is hitting communities hard.

Over 50 million more people are facing severe hunger, many already battered by conflict and climate shocks.

The consequences could be devastating. We must act now to protect the communities before impacts do the worst.

#Sudan: UN Human Rights Chief @volker_turk strongly condemns the escalation in drone strikes this month and their devastating consequences for civilians in Kordofan, Darfur, Blue Nile, Khartoum and other states.

He emphasizes that a negotiated settlement, with human rights at easible pathway to sustainable peace, saying: “I urge both parties to the conflict, and their affiliates, to commit to a ceasefire.”
