At work, a lot of my time is spent writing Credo checks to improve code quality.
We've just open sourced 14 checks that we think will be useful to the #ElixirLang community, and we'll add more over time.
Give 'em a try, let me know what you think! π

The v0.1 release of Expert (the new, official #ElixirLang LSP) is final! π
The best Elixir LSP experience keeps getting better.
Tremendous thanks to all the contributors, and to @JumpAdvisorAI for sponsoring PaweΕ on my team to work on it full-time. π

This is a huge milestone.
At Jump, weβve had PaweΕ ΕwiΔ tkowski (katafrakt on the internet) working full time getting Expert dialed in for our large codebase. The stability and reliability are now hands down the best #ElixirLang LSP experience Iβve had, and weβre not done yet.

We've officially published the first release candidate for the Expert language server and would appreciate all the help we can get to test it! #myelixirstatus
Thank you everyone who has helped get us this far, it really has been a monumental effort.

Who do you know who wants to come work full time on #ElixirLang OSS tooling? (RTs appreciated!)

POV: @misaelpc delivering an amazing talk on how they migrated a WebRTC recorder from JS to Elixir at Tich. π Humor is on point. π

If you had 3 wishes to spend on fixing devex gripes in your Elixir codebase, how would you spend them?

Render continuing to kill it.
You can now wait for in-progress deploys to finish before triggering the next one. Set your overlapping deploy policy to "wait" and keep shipping during busy sprints:

Woohoo! I'll be speaking in person at ElixirConf 2025, with a talk called "Cat and Mouse: Challenge in Adversarial Web Scraping." I'm gonna talk about all the stuff I learned about finally doing scraping well after 3 attempts at it in my career. π

Due to recent discussions about Phoenix contexts, I'm sharing the articles I wrote a few years ago which present my view on code org in a Phoenix app:

Suppose you have a simple feature that can be implemented via a small amount of either CSS or JavaScript (a button to toggle visibility of another block, for instance). Which do you prefer?

phoenix.new is publicly available!
I can't wait to see what folks build and where this goes!
- remote AI runtime for full-stack app building, github workflows, etc
- Full in browser IDE and xterm, with root
- Preview URLs for any port

ex_unit tip:
You definitely have successful tests that still print something out to the STDOUT. I see you. I know you do.
To get that beautiful stream of green periods instead, all you got to do is add:
@tag :capture_log
above any test you wanna silence.

Elixir 1.19 is a banger! I'm so pleased with the direction that #ElixirLang is going. My programs just get faster and more correct every time. I just know that we're in good hands. Thank you to everyone on the team for your hard work!
