@TechEmails Imagine hiring Mustafa to lead AI at MS after writing all this. $MSFT has only produced slop Copilot products yet in AI race which no one uses. Imagine millions of customers having access to windows but they prefer to use GPT in browser instead of any MS products.

@TechEmails This is hilarious next to the April 2026 OpenAI restructure. MSFT is down to a 20% rev share through 2030, no exclusivity, AGI clause cut. Satya in this email: 'Better to be an investor and not even take all this execution risk!'

@TechEmails 2022. Meanwhile, it's 2026 and MSFT still doesn't have its own AI stack.

@TechEmails It's funny how these billionaires/CEOs and all chat so casually and come straight to the point even in mails instead of those useless formalities

@TechEmails this is absolutely hilarious in hindsight

because he had this foresight, yet they did nothing with it.

@TechEmails Now they have no know how, no IP , no infra. Just copilot to copilot slip. Incredible Microsoft

@TechEmails Satya calling the OpenAI deal a massive unprecedented risk back in 2022 shows how sharp he was. He still went all in and it paid off huge for Microsoft keeping them relevant in the AI race. Bold leadership.

@TechEmails seen some of these internal docs before they get shared publicly it's nuts how much strategy gets debated in private

@TechEmails Satya is probably the most underrated CEO in the world. A professional with a vision and instinct of an entrepreneur.

@TechEmails Pre-product, pre-hype, pre-everything. and now openai is losing that market share and hype

GenAI traffic share, last 12 months:

ChatGPT: 78% → 54%
Gemini: 7% → 27%
Claude: 1% → 8%
DeepSeek: 6% → 4%
Grok, Perplexity, Copilot: flat

ChatGPT lost a quarter of the market. Gemini has the distribution. Claude still lags behind general market share.

@TechEmailsa写这封email时ChatGPT还没发布(5个月后才出)。Microsoft下注OpenAI是based on GPT-4的internal demo不是public hype——Satya看到了public还没看到的东西然后迅速行动。最好的投资决策都长这样:基于non-public signal在public narrative形成之前行动。到你在Twitter看到的时候alpha已经没了

@TechEmails Well, is he saying he did not make the decision in the first place?🙃

Strange something like this would be in black and white as the issue here seems to be persons above him who pulled the trigger...

@TechEmails Microsoft funding OpenAI is the most expensive way to access AI. Local infrastructure with open models is cheaper, more reliable, and you keep control of your stack. The math isnt close anymore.
