@xiang_aw @wholemars This does seem like the opposite of open. OpenAI is essentially captured by Microsoft.

@TechEmails No way @sama wrote this text. Too many capital letters.

@TechEmails Bro this screenshot just shows what we all knew was coming. OpenAI getting cozy with Microsoft was bound to end badly for Sam.

@TechEmails Sam Altman received guidance from Shivon Zilis on how to manipulate Elon - before contacting him!

@TechEmails interesting that Sam never capitalizes in Twitter, but uses all proper grammar when writing Elon.

@TechEmails In hindsight Altman understood the game very early and played his hand flawlessly.

@TechEmailslly wanted it to be a chariy shouldn't he have called it CharityAI ?
ai.charity
?
OpenAI doesn't necessarily imply any corp structure or IP policy. Suggestive, but not definitive -- I feel like Elon just didn't want to mint a bunch of smart people into billionaires, so tried to force them to surrender IP into "the open" without looking like he was taking it for himself. It was a control play, anti-competitive in a sense, because he wasn't ready to do AI yet himself, so he took some competition, lured them with the fake "Open Source" promise of goodness, but really it was to disempower them. That way he could prevent a new challenger from centralizing a node of control he might have to deal with. It was likely instinctual alpha behavior from one who sensed they would need to enter AI space eventually.
I think that's what he's bitter about. Outplayed at his fundamental game.

@TechEmails I continue to say this about Elon's whole case: so the fuck what?
Elon's got a bug up his ass. But it doesn't matter, it's not the end of the world, it's not a smoking gun. It's nothing.

@TechEmails Sam was either using ChatGPT to write that or he was only one of a few people who naturally write “e.g.,”
