@StudioXRadio That is incredible to hear, and we actually went deeper on the Omarchy Mac Linux kernel release here. x.com/AGTPinsights/s…
The Omarchy Mac team just shipped its own Linux kernel for Apple Silicon. Here's what you need to know.

Joshua Warren of the @OmarchyMac team announced it on X today. The kernel is for @omarchy, DHH's Linux distro. It covers M1, M2, M3 and MacBook Neo machines. Chris Kearney s, titled "Money for Nothing", and said the team is about to launch.

It supports external monitors, Thunderbolt docks and Touch ID. The team's earlier Omarchy M announcement from September listed full GPU support, external monitors over USB-C, MLX and disk encryption. M4, M5 and M6 support is coming soon.

This is still an edge release. The public installer won't install the kernel yet. Once it clears more testing, it should be a simple install. The installer sets up Omarchy alongside macOS by default, so users can dual boot.

Reaction so far: early users say they already run Omarchy on M1 and M4 Macs as a daily driver. Some M3 owners have stayed on macOS waiting for this and want Omarchy to replace it, not run in a window on top. One reply said it means no more walled gardens. Another said Apple hardware would be worth buying if full mainline support lands. Another blamed the Asahi Linux team's anti-AI position for slowing this down.

Key numbers:
- M1, M2, M3 and MacBook Neo: supported now
- M4, M5, M6: coming soon
- Current stable Mac package: 4.0.4-mac.1
- Kearney's release video: about 4 minutes

The kernel is working today, but public install is still waiting on more testing.

@StudioXRadio First PR is the right test. A daily driver isn't real until you ship from it.
Mine is a Framework Desktop on Omarchy at home, with Tailscale on everything, so away from the desk I'm one SSH hop from it.
