There is a certain irony to those who have been calling the @nytimes “fake news” for years who are now thoroughly behind their reporting on Alaska. Evident on @jaketapper ‘s show today.

Another example of AI doing activities that would get a person arrested.

What if we tried to access someone’s bank account without permission, apply for a visa fraudulently, engaged in corporate espionage, etc.? At what point do we stop simply shrugging the behavior off?
SCOOP: Major U.S. banks are detecting unauthorized third-party AI agents inside customer accounts, including some attempting to take actions that appear to be independent of user instructions, sources told Axios.

The findings have alarmed banking executives, who are racing to restrict access to their systems as AI moves at a velocity faster than financial institutions can respond, multiple industry and bank executives told Axios.

Several banks are now preparing for worst-case and even “day after” scenarios, including how to rapidly secure or restore customer accounts if things go wrong, the people said.

Several bank executives told Axios they're struggling to distinguish between human users and AI agents. One executive said banks also struggle to determine whether agents are authorized by customers or potentially operating without their permission, more akin to rogue agent behavior.

Whoa. $SOXL, 3X leveraged ETF tied to $SOXX, was most active symbol last week at @IBKR. Big net buying on chip dip. @SteveSosnick said it's "a stunning statement about our customers’ ongoing faith in technology stocks in general and the semiconductor sector more specifically."

I just saw a @MetroNorth train car entitled “Thomas Wolfe” pass by.

How many people go home every night on a train named for the author famous for “You can’t go home again”?

This has been going on for months, though the “tech only” theme solidified even further in September.

And the bond market dislikes it anyway - 2yr & 10yr yields up by 4bp.

(Plus monthly avg earnings rose by only 0.1% and unemployment rate up to 4.2%).

Stock traders aren’t letting the facts get in the way of a risk-on party tho
The September jobs number missed by 60k at 29k, and prior months were revised down by 60k.

Duration can be a real b*tch. Remember, this isn’t about credit, it’s about present value.

Now let’s apply a similar logic to the loans from that era that private credit firms have marked at par…

I have been asserting for some time that financial nihilism has been blurring the boundaries between gambling and investing, and this paragraph in a @GQMagazine article (link below) about opening card packs on streaming sites sums it up perfectly.

Let me see if get this correctly:

Furry air traffic controllers - bad?
Bestiality for FBI applicants - ok?

What if a bestiality-loving FBI applicant hooks up with a furry controller???
TOMMY TUBERVILLE WARNS THAT “MANY” PILOTS, FLIGHT ATTENDANTS AND AIR TRAFFIC CONTROLLERS ARE FURRIES: “Lord help us. It’s terrifying when you think about this.”

Tuberville claimed on the Senate floor that airline workers being part of the furry community poses a danger to lot “could have a deranged fetish of dressing up like an animal.”
