Just like the rise of AI is making privacy critical for many, as @BenDiFrancesco explains in this @OctantApp's Privacy Round clip, AI is now also making DPRK more effective.
Stay safe out there and remember Umbra is not useful for criminals to obfuscate stolen funds.

PSA: quite a few governance tokens were among the assets stolen in the Binance hacIk.
Most of those have been sold so liquidity is thinner than usual.
DAO members are advised to stay vigilant and continue to monitor for unexpected and possibly malicious governance proposals.

We’re unironically humbled, honored and proud to announce 127 people backed us in @OctantApp's Epoch 13!
Turns out privacy requires B2B sales too.
Paraphrasing Eric Hughes, we must better sell people on privacy if we expect to have any.
Time to lock in on Umbra v2.
Onward.

We're humbled, honored and proud to announce that Umbra has been selected for @OctantApp's Epoch 13.
What has this taught us about B2B sales?
Nothing. We build open source privacy tools.
It's time to fund privacy.

What an epoch! Thank you for contributing to advancing privacy on Ethereum and the open internet. Your allocations have helped allocate 100 ETH in matching funds from @GolemFoundation.
A big congrats to all the teams in the cohort. Thank you for all your work. Here's to a the default and not the exception.

It's the final countdown indeed.
Thank you to everyone who’s backed Umbra, shared our posts or nudged a friend this week.
And kudos to @OctantApp and the 12 other teams for making this a real community effort.
Still a few hours left to cast your votes!

13 privacy projects. One very public deadline.
5 hours left to back your favorite teams in @OctantApp's Epoch 13.
The 100 ETH matching pool has been unlocked, but every extra vote still counts!
Help us ship Umbra v2 and realize the untapped potential of stealth addresses.

Privacy is multiplayer. It works best when everyone helps preserve it.
Thanks to @OctantApp, we met the Curvy team & began exploring how Umbra payments could flow directly into @0xCurvy’s private pool, extending privacy beyond the receiving addr.
Here's to more fusion dances!

Privacy works better when protocols compose.
Curvy reduces the public link to the payer.
Umbra gives the recipient a fresh stealth address.
We’ve been exploring what happens when those two flows connect.
Still a concept for now, but this is the direction we’d like privacy in.
Final day of @OctantApp Epoch 13.

Legitimately blown away by the level of support we've received so far. Thank you! This will make a difference in our resource allocation, and allow us to get Umbra v2 over the finish line. If you're able to contribute, and you haven't yet, please consider.
At @ScopeLift, we've been working on @UmbraCash since 2020. It's open source privacy tech that we've built solely from grant funding. We don't monetize it. It's a public good. Please consider supporting the project in the ongoing @OctantApp round.

Our co-founder @BenDiFrancesco explains why AI just made everyone an easier target.
Think no one would bother tracking you down? AI made that so cheap now everyone’s on the spot.
Hence the need for privacy. Back the teams protecting it before @OctantApp's round closes Wednesday

One of the best aspects of @OctantApp's model is the collaborations it helps unlock.
Here's to a more private world!
Here's to a more private world!
Private payments shouldn’t require both sides to use the same privacy protocol.
We’ve been exploring a concept with @UmbraCash: start from Curvy without exposing a clean public link to the original payer, and deliver the payment to a fresh Umbra stealth address on the other ng at the reverse flow: withdrawing from Umbra directly into Curvy’s private pool instead of a publicly known address. Still a concept, not a live integration yet, but exactly the kind of privacy composability we’d like to see more of.
We met through @OctantApp Epoch 13 and decided to use the round to explore something concrete together. Explore Octant Epoch 13, epoch.octant.app/rounds/0x571ce…, and vote for Curvy, Umbra, or any privacy project you believe in.

One of the best things about @OctantApp's Epoch 13 has been finding specific ways privacy projects can compose rather than just campaign next to each other.
For example, stealth addresses protect the receiver but what happens after withdrawal is also key.
To address that, we cept with @0xCurvy where funds received through Umbra can move directly into Curvy’s private pool instead of being withdrawn to a publicly known address.
The idea is to extend privacy beyond the first hop and reduce how much any one layer can see about the full payment path. It's not live yet, but we're working on it!
Check out the teams building in this Privacy Round and vote for Umbra, Curvy and any project that catches your eye. Deadline is this Wednesday, Oct 21, 8pm ET.
