Thank you to Ilford, my hometown of forty years, the place that made me who I am.

Thank you to my staff and all my supporters in Ilford and across East London.

My work for the people who need a transformative Labour Government is not done.

Now to win a Labour Government. 🌹

This week I was denied entry into the West Bank as part of an international delegation led by @ProgIntl.

Solidarity is not a crime. Neither is being Palestinian. I will not be intimidated into silence.

Whats happening in Palestine is unjust, our visit was peaceful in the hope to support Palestinian farmers and those facing illegal settler violence. From the border, this is what I had to say as it happened.

Today I was denied entry into the West Bank, alongside other parliamentary colleagues from across Europe as part of a @ProgIntl delegation.

We were held for 8 hours, interrogated and ultimately prevented from crossing the border.

I came to stand alongside Palestinians being attacked for harvesting olives on their own land. Instead, we were turned away, with no reason given.

More than ever, Palestinians are being subject to terror and violence by the IDF and illegal settlers. Increased blockades, demolitions and unthinkable violence have become the norm for Palestinians in the West Bank.

It is more important now than ever that we bear witness and show our solidarity.

But we were prevented from doing so.

I will continue to do everything I can to apply pressure on the Netanyahu government, and those responsible for the persecution and genocide of the Palestinian people.

I have been detained by Israeli security forces all day. Along with with MPs @labourlewis, @larabirdsnp, MSP Kate Nevans, former MP @SamTarry and campaigners from across the world, we were turned back because they don’t want anyone seeing their ethnic cleansing.

Yesterday, I was barred from entering the West Bank by Israeli officials, as part of a @ProgIntl delegation.

What's happening here in Palestine is unjust. We've just witnessed what Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and many others have called a genocide unfold in Gaza.

Andy Haldane and Will Hutton argue that we can have public control over water without public ownership.

The key is to create new privately owned “public-benefit companies”.

But there are some issues with this argument.🧵 theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

Never seen a “western civilisation” politician in Britain do anything like this when they’ve had power, or propose it when they don’t have power

Yesterday was an absolute whirlwind.

We finally saw a record number of MPs step up and support public ownership of water, something I’ve spent years fighting for.

To top it off, I got to chat with @BeckyHill, who dropped by to show her support, look me in the eye, and say, die on.”

Public ownership of water is closer than ever. Help us get to the finish line by adding your name 👇
