I always had great admiration for Jerry Koosman. Outpitched Mike Cuellar in game 2 of the 69 series. Not easy to do.. 2-1 victory. 220 wins, 140 complete games, 33 shutout , 20 wins twice. Great career and such a class person.. RIP

The Jets locker room, by most accounts, still believes in Aaron Glenn as a leader. But belief can only take you so far it turns out.
Glenn’s defense, his super power, has become a full-blown disaster.
The way this team is losing under Glenn feels like the same old — the Jets from another embarrassing loss:

Jerry Koosman's catcher in his Mets days, J.C. Martin, once said that Koosman could throw his 11-5 curveball:
"Any time."
"Jerry Koosman had brains, heart and guts, it was his misfortune to always be second best.
Runner up to Johnny Bench for the 1968 ROY despite 19 wins, runner he Cy Young in 1976 despite 21 wins, always the #2 starter behind Tom Terrific."
How does a player with 222 wins, 73rd all-time, ERA of 3.36 AND 2,556 strikeouts make it on just 1 Hall of Fame ballot???
Go easy!!!!

There’s not much left to say about the #Jets. They have some decent young talent. They’ll have a new coach and new quarterback next year and we’ll see what they do. But when it’s November 1st and your season is over, 16 seasons and counting out of the playoffs, it’s just too depressing to fathom.

Jets gained 31, 15 and 15 yards on their first three plays of the game, plus a Raiders defensive holding penalty.
Got to the 3-yard-line.
Ended up with only three points.
