If your kiddos want you to read them books at night, read the book.
If they want you to pla catch, play catch.
They won’t be your roommate forever. Cherish this time. It isn’t coming back.

I don't think @CNN expected this.
Bob Costas on CNN’s The Story Is with Elex Michaelson backed the IOC’s ban on biological males in women’s Olympic events.
“Common sense is not transphobic,” he said, while stressing that transgender people deserve respect and dignity.
His key has ever successfully competed against men at the Olympics.
-If Caitlin Clark made the NBA, it would be celebrated.
-If a bench NBA player dominated the WNBA, “everybody would know that is BS.”
Title IX was progressive for a reason — women’s sports categories exist to keep competition fair.

This is NOT a political issue & shouldn't be made into one. It's physics & human anatomy. Sophie Cunningham is correct.
A thread/example 🧵:
The fastest woman in history is Florence Griffith-Joyner, fabulously known as Flo-Jo 🏃🏾♀️ 💅
Her world record in the 100 meter dash is an astonishs record has stood completely untouched for decades & still stands today 🥇
When compared to professional men, Flo-Jo's all-time historic speed is heavily outmatched by the biological & physiological realities of male sprinting mechanics.
At the professional Men's Level, Flo Jo would be UNRANKED. According to World Athletics data, over 1,900 men have run faster than Flo-Jo’s 10.49 second women's world record. Her time would fail to qualify for any standard professional or NCAA men’s track meet.
Her 10.49-second mark aligns perfectly with the elite U.S. high school boys' level.
76 high school boys ran faster than Flo-Jo's record in 2019 alone.
It's nowhere near fair to amazing women athletes that work hard their whole lives to compete against biological men.

Sophie Cunningham on men playing in women’s sports, per ESPN.
“I want to protect young girls in a locker room, or young girls in sport who shouldn’t have to go against biological men.”

I’m 16. I play because I love my sport and my team.
Watching @sophaller say it out loud — that girls shouldn’t have to give up fair competition or our privacy — meant more than she’ll ever know. When a WNBA star says it, maybe people finally listen.
I know what it’s like to treated like it’s hateful. It isn’t. Wanting a fair game and a private locker room was never hate. It’s just the truth, and I’m done being afraid to say it.
Thank you, Sophie, for going first. You made it easier for the rest of us.

One of the hardest parts of athletics is that eventually, every journey comes to an end.
Today was the final game in a Mascoutah uniform for senior Nathan Walker. A tough loss in a huge game. Emotions were high. Hearts were broken.
Yet as the team packed up and prepared for the till carrying the ball barrel to the bus.
No seeking attention. No fanfare.
Just a young man doing what he's always done, putting his team first.
Our roster was filled with underclassmen this season, and this Senior Class’s impact went far beyond anything that will ever show up in a box score. Leadership isn't always measured in hits, runs, or wins. Sometimes it's measured in the small moments when nobody is watching.
We live in a world that too often focuses on the negative. Social media loves controversy and criticism. But I'm here to share what our kids do right.
This is what high character looks like.
This is what leadership looks like.
This is what Mascoutah looks like.
This place is special. And so are our kids.

In what they called the fastest 100m Dash in Class 1A history, Alec Schlichting takes the bronze medal in a generational race! Schlichto would have placed 2nd in 2A and 5th in 3A. The fastest young man to ever walk the halls at Lena-Winslow. We are proud of you @SchlichtingAlec #GOAT
