Throughout my career, I’ve been fortunate to learn from some incredible people, experience both successes and challenges, and discover just how powerful leadership can be.
One thing I’ve learned is that the lessons we gain through our experiences are meant to be shared. This is an opportunity for me to take what I’ve learned over the years and hopefully make a positive impact on others.

To our coaches, thank you. Thank you for your commitment to our kids, our school, and the Mascoutah community. Thank you for the early mornings, late nights, long weekends, tough conversations, celebrations, sacrifices, and countless hours that most I count my blessings every day that I get to work alongside the best coaching staff in the state of Illinois. What you do goes far beyond wins, championships, and scoreboards. You teach. You mentor. You challenge. You encourage. You hold kids accountable, pick them up when they fall, and help prepare them for life long after their playing days are over.
You are a blessing to so many lives, and you are the reason we have the success, culture, and pride that we do at Mascoutah High School.

PJ Fleck was asked after the game how he's able shut out the haters and continue being himself despite the heat he takes publicly.
His message, per usual, is worth a listen no matter what you think of the Minnesota Gophers' head coach.
"We will never ever, ever, ever take I don't think there's any reason for anybody in this world, no matter who you are, to apologize for who you are. As long as you are being the best, most authentic, most real version of yourself every day, and you're changing your best, and you're doing good in the world. You do that, don't you ever change... Be yourself."

💜STUDENT-ATHLETE MENTAL HEALTH WEEK
With next week being Student-Athlete Mental Health Week, we want to take the opportunity to highlight one of the most valuable resources and newest additions that we have within MHS Athletics, our Athletic Counselor, Caitlin Morrell!
In a guidance counselor at MHS, Caitlin is assigned specifically to our Athletic Department, providing our student-athletes and coaches with a trusted outlet when they need a place to go, someone to listen, or support navigating the pressures that come with athletics and life.
Caitlin is also an important part of our L-EAT-ERSHIP Academy, helping us address mental health, social acceptance, relationships, pressure, adversity, and personal growth.
Caitlin understands the highs and lows of competition. Whether helping someone through a difficult time or helping them learn how to handle success, she brings experience, perspective, and compassion that make her an invaluable part of our athletic program.
We are proud to be part of a district that recognizes that taking care of our student-athletes means taking care of the whole person, and we are incredibly thankful to have Caitlin on our team!
