The Capital Region mourns the loss of a selfless and courageous hero. Deputy Nick Tullier exhibited altruistic action and bravery in the face of danger. Let us remember his life, service, and perseverance as a legacy to strive for.

For the first time in Louisiana history, the Legislature will hold a Veto Override Session. According to Louisiana’s Constitution, it’s the Legislature’s right as a co-equal branch of government to override vetoed legislation that goes against the people’s will.

A new Mississippi River bridge is absolutely necessary for the state as a whole. That’s why we prioritized funding a new Mississippi River bridge this past session. We’re not done leading the fight for infrastructure. We’re just getting started.

At the beginning of each session, I’m reminded of what an honor it is to serve District 69. I’m proud to announce eleven of the legislative instruments I’ve filed have successfully passed their legislative hurdles.

It takes the entire brownie-eating world about 10 minutes to bake brownies but the laws of physics cease to exist in my oven. Still not ready after 20 minutes. I’m not a fast cook, I guess.

This past weekend was certainly eye-opening. I’m grateful to serve with legislative colleagues that are willing to come together to help the people of Lake Charles. We distributed 1,500 hot meals, 54 pallets of water, and 10,000 pounds of ice.
