My PhD work is in press @NatureComms! I have enjoyed this journey of discovery so much, from recognizing this interesting “capping” motif in TRH to predicting and detecting peptides to ultimately finding signaling functionalities of capped peptides (CAP-TAC1 and CAP-GDF15).
Congratulations @AmandaWigg_, thesis work now in press @NatureComms. Inspired by the structure of the hypothalamic hormone TRH (pyroglu-his-pro-amide), Amanda shows “capping” defines a chemical motif present in many previously unknown bioactive peptides

Excited to share our latest work on mapping cell-cell communication within the thermogenic adipose niche via ligand-receptor networks. We identify adipose progenitors as the major communication "hub." Fantastic collaboration with @FarnazShamsi @rongbin_zheng @kaifu3
Changes in the ambient temperature alter cell-cell communications in murine brown adipose tissue, as shown in a study by @FarnazShamsi, @tsengyuhua, @rongbin_zheng, @kaifu3 nature.com/articles/s4200…
