AI destroyed my industry. Real thing. I teach people. Always have. At one point I was earning 100k a month selling online coding courses.
Today I can’t make money with training videos if I wanted to. My peers have the same issue: AI is killing video courses. Why learn a tech skill when AI can do the work?
It’s frustrating. But it’s also an opportunity. Now I do more human coaching than ever before.
I spend way more time helping people reach outcomes (vs just a skill).
I’ve had to adapt. I have anxiety from time to time and working closely with people often drains me. But I’ve had to evolve how I work.
The same with coding and SAAS. Everything is changing.
It’s ironic, with AI I’ve personally been forced to be more human and connect at a more human level in order to connect with people and sell products. People are less tolerate of noise and slop.
I’m 40 and learning new things is harder. But I have to. And honestly, I’m having more fun learning AI than struggles and hardships.
All to say is that I’m navigating this changing world like everyone else and I think there is no need to group people in buckets of “Pro AI vs Against AI”
We are all people. And just because things are hard doesn’t mean they are wrong.

Looking great
From the Flux 3 character reference to a fully rigged character in Unreal Engine!
Generated the high-poly model with Tripo 3.1, then used the Blender Agent inside the workflow to bake it down to low poly. Atlas rigging tools handled the rig and animations. The fingers came out cloth physics in Unreal Engine to give the generated cape mesh more movement.
Check out the full workflow in the comments.

Love this!
The team behind 99 Nights in the Forest didn’t launch with a big moment. They just quietly put it out and let it grow. Watch the full Made on Roblox episode: rblx.co/made-on-roblox…

My most honest and real thoughts on AI in games. Not defending sides. Just me talking about why I use AI.

The REAL reason people hate AI:
they feel threatened and are scared that they don’t know where they will fit in this new world. Like many of us, they have attached their identity and worth to their skill.
There is also cognitive dissonance. To watch something you spent years mastering replicated by a robot in seconds.
All to say is the AI debate is simply a struggle of human emotion. I am certain that if these same people truly invested in it, they would find that their creativity would expand.

Roblox isn't a kids gaming platform. I would describe it as an immersive creative ecosystem for all ages. There are so many sub-cultures and audiences within it. Love being here.

It’s getting so good!
Rig. Animate. Export.
We've rebuilt Rigging & Animation in Tripo Studio for game-ready motion:
• Full-body and hand bone rigging
• 5 engine-ready skeleton presets
• Text to Motion: turn prompts into 1–10s animations
• Multi-stage Motion: combine up to 5 motion segments
Autort your character without remapping.

@SeaCritDev. AI is accelerating tracing the root cause of reported bugs in our code base by a factor of 2x for the most complex scenarios and even more for simple bugs where it’s sometimes able to product a proposed fix that we verify. This is among the most horribly unfun part of all software development.

Hey Roblox creators: Anyone know what I should change on this to pass review for an avatar? It keeps getting marked as "sexual content" when a human reviews it.

Approved!
1. Removed shadows from chest and panties
2. Removed cleavage geometry
3. Made the clothing dark
Thanks @bearpuppyrbx for the advice!

one of the HARDEST things in biz/tech for me has been this:
What i personally like and want is NEVER even close to what mass majority of people/customers want.
It would just be nice sometimes for those things to align.

@MoralzzX Developers who are getting value from AI should speak up. There's safety in numbers. MOST developers are doing it and loving it - and if they're not talking about it it's mostly out of fear for haters attacking them, their product, and their company.

It’s good for Tim to talk about all this publicly. Us devs have been in the trenches being assaulted by AI haters in games. The discussion is over. Stop fighting it. No one is lesser because of it. Let’s make games and stop attaching morals to how they are made. People just want to create. Let us cook.
@KenneyNL This is bullshit, Kenney. I’m the same tech tree following optimist who moved from C to C++, from 2D to 3D, and from closed source to open source. I run a company. I write code. I contribute to published papers. I’ve upped my expectations of AI. Up yours!

Dear Roblox: No more 1 day bans please. As a professional UGC creator it is quite frustrating to get banned because a texture had something in it that "looked" offensive. Sure, catch all this at the automation layer, but you shouldnt penalize for it. Especially not for assets uploaded for a game experience that hasnt even been published yet.

The bottleneck in AI game development isn't the models anymore. It's my own creativity.
AI has allowed me to approach genres that historically required a lot of prior knowledge and experience, and it teaches me along the way. E.g. I'm building a heavily physics-based game (excavator simulator) and a music experience.
I learn in real time while pulling off work that used to take specialized teams months. The impossible is now within reach :-)
All this makes it an insane time for juniors breaking in. You can rapidly build real experience without being encumbered by the knowledge of what used to be impossible. AI is so new and changing so fast that there’s no large body of entrenched experience to overcome. The way we prompt today is already very different from a year ago.
What it takes is an open mind, curiosity, and grit!
And a lot of the seasoned veterans I’m talking to are having the time of their lives. They can finally apply their experience to pure creative direction and let the AI execute.
Wild time to be making games... and to be alive in general.
